This pours a hazy orange with a one finger white head that disappears rather quick leaving little lacing on the glass.

Smells just like pumpkin pie spices... cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves... I also detect a brown sugar sweetness and a bit of toasted crust. Smells good!

The taste is pure buttery pumpkin and spices... I get a little hint of vanilla that makes me think of when i put cool whip on my pumpkin pie... delicious!

I love this Pumpkin beer.. I always have this and Schlafly's Pumpkin in my fridge for fall... this is a more easy drinking lighter beer, while Schlafly is more of a beast in comparison. I actually drank my first one of these while raking leaves outside and i love the aroma and taste mixed with the smell of the leaves... ahhh, gotta love fall!

Cheers

Tried this side-by-side with Buffalo Bill's Pumpkin Ale. Pours an amber color with a decent sized head that sticks around for a little while, but doesn't leave much lacing on the glass. The aroma has cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice - basically smells like pumpkin spices, but subtle, not too overpowering. Some sweetness as well. Tastes very good. Excellent blend of the pumpkin spices. Slight malt character, but the pumpkin takes over. Very well made. I liked this one much better than the Buffalo Bill's, but not nearly as well as the Dogfish Head version.

Pours a light golden amber.

Slight aroma of baking spices and light pumpkin.

Pumpkin and baking spices even less pronounced in flavor.

Light-bodied, high carbonation.

Overall, not very good.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a murky orange with a small white head. The aroma matches a pumpkin pie! The taste is pure pumpkin and spice goodness. One of the best pumpkin ales I have had.

A slightly hazy copper color with a modest and short lived ivory head.

The Aroma is mainly pumpkin pie spices - cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg - with just a suggestion of pumpkin, caramel and biscuits.

The spices come in prominently in the taste as well, but not to the extent that they are really offensive. The pumpkin flavor is really mild with a definite malty base that suggests light caramel, butter, biscuits and apples. The finish seems to be mainly cloves and cinnamon with a hint of alcohol warmth. T

his will never be one of my favorite styles but, so far, this would be my pick. The pumpkin and spices are just about right to enjoy with out overpowering. Definitely worth a try for the fall season.

One of the better pumpkin beers out there. Unfortunately I am not a huge fan of the pumpkin beers, I have to be in the mood and that doesn't happen often.

12 oz. bottle.

Hazy pumpkin copper body with golden edges. Little finger of gauzy, sticky, egg-shell white head. Good lacing. Caramel and cookie malt aromas mix with pecan pie, butter rum, nutmeg, cinnamon, and a decent wallop of cloves. Toasted malt and spices up front. Slight metallic hop flavor somewhere in there. Pulpy, pumpkin pie filling taste develops, complete with buttery crust, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Slightly tart twang in the background. Light honey sweetness in the finish. Not bad. Maybe a prototypical pumpkin beer, which is not my favorite style (I tend to prefer the higher abv examples due to the bigger, sweeter malt backbone).

Bottle courtesy of Northyorksammy: Poured a light yellow/redish color ale with a big foamy head with average retention but good lacing. Aroma of cinnamon and cloves is about medium with some light pumpkin. Taste of cinnamon and cloves dominated the taste and was well balance with some light pumpkin. Light body with some good carbonation. Overall, I thought this was a well done pumpkin beer but probably not up to par with the Weyerbacher one which I still think is the best of the style.

Wow, this beer is pretty damn good. Having only had the Blue Moon pumpkin ale before this one, I was not expecting too much. This beer really does taste like pumpkin pie. It smells wonderfully pumpkiny too. I will be looking forward to this beer next fall. Until then I will enjoy it while I can.

Pour is a light orange/brown color with a nice medium sized head atop. There is some cloudiness towards the top of the pour.

Smell is really nice- makes me salivate. Has lots of sweet pumpkin in it, and hints at some ginger.

A nice blend here - one of the best pumpkin ales I've ever had. Starts with a sweet pumpkin and cinnamon flavor, then other spices ease in. The aftertaste is very sweet too. The only drawback (for me) is that it is sweet and rich and I couldn't see making this into a session beer.

This beer will make a great compliment to Fall foods, desserts, or with fresh fruit.

Bottle obtained from Breeze-Thru Liquor in Milwaukee.

Appeareance was an orange-ish, hazy beer with a light-colored head with decent staying power. There was a large amount of sediment in the bottle.

Odor was not very appealing. It was a taste of spices (the usual suspects when talking about pumpkin pie or pumpkin beer) layered atop something vaguely unpleasant.

Taste was spice atop a sour taste. Actually, pretty pleasant. I enjoyed the sour-spice relationship more, the more I drank, although I didn't especially want another one. A large amount of sediment was also left in the bottom of my glass.

Doing a review on my third bottle.

Appearance - Not much head on the pour. Laces to the pint glass nicely and heavily. A vibrant sunset orange all-around.

Smell - Pumpkin and spices that are well-balanced.

Taste - More carbonated than I expected. A large amount of sizzling carbonation that fizzes with light citrus. Slowly smooths into fall spices before settling on a pumpkin gourd note. The pumpkin is tasty and appropriately titled.

Mouthfeel and Overall - Light to medium bodied. Heavily carbonated. Spot-on tasty pumpkin. Pleasant and smooth with great spices added in.

Well, this was on the shelf with the Dogfish Head Punkin Ale, and I went with this since the brewer was "new to me." Pours a medium head with some fizziness visible in the body. Beer itself is a really orange color, and has the definite taste of pumpkin baked with brown sugar. Nutmeg is most prominent, but none of the spices is especially overpowering. It’s just a nicely tuned little pumpkin pie beer, definitely using pumpkin instead of just pumpkin pie spices.

When I finished the last bottle in my sixpack, I found it did hold up pretty nicely. It was well filtered at bottling, no icky sediment on the bottom. Spices had not become overpowering, but added to the malt to make it come in a little "richer." I wouldn’t want to hold on the this too long, but it aged well.

Appearance - Poured nearly 2 fingers of light golden khaki head, color of the body is a hazy orange amber - almost like the color of pumpkin pie filling. The head dwindles to a cap, and doesn't leave much in the way of lacing.

Smell - Big pumpkin spices of nutmeg, cinnamon, some very light clove, and some light sweetness like whipped cream.

Taste - Very spice forward, exactly like the nose with spices of nutmeg and cinnamon, with slight clove at the back of the tongue, also getting some light minerals, and some wheat bread crust. There is some light sweetness here too, truly like light whipped cream. The flavors here are all pretty good, but seem just a bit watered down.

Mouthfeel - Lighter side of medium, carb is medium and somewhat cleansing, with plenty of edges across the tongue. Finish is somewhat clean and a little watery, with lingering spices.

Overall - A pretty good pumpkin beer, has the right flavors, but on the lighter side. Would be easy to knock back a few of these, nearly sessionable. A decent representative of the style.
