From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This decent little brew pours a
medium brown color with a light head of white foam that settles to
a thick ring and light clumping pool. Nose of dark sweet chocolate
and cherries with cola notes. Flavors follow the nose with dark
chocolate and cherries with some subtle cream notes. Mouth
feel is a touch thin, light carbonation, medium light body, and a
lightly dry finish that is a hint tart from the cherries.

A decent desert brew for the style.

Darker brown with this head that left practically nothing within a minute. Looks almost like cola. Strong maraschino cherry smell with chocolate-ish or Tootsie roll undertone. The flavor is similar. It's unusual to experience this kind of chocolate flavor in a beer that isn't actually a "dark" beer. It's not a complex flavor, but it's not bad. Really a lot like soda. Pretty sweet. The body is light and carbonation fairly high. It leaves a bit of a synthetic aftertaste.

Poured from 12-ounce bottle into a Coke soda fountain glass. Pours the color of dark caramel sauce, with a decent three-finger off-white head. The color belies the light body and mouthfeel of this wheat-based beer. The aromas and flavors are exactly as advertised on the label, and you can't fault it for that. Who doesn't like cherry Tootsie-Roll Pops? Quite tasty and drinkable, and a very good beer overall.

Smells like a maraschino cherry with some dark chocolate. Tastes just like a chocolate covered cherry. Look at the label. Look at the name. What did you expect? Not exactly a complicated brew with an intricate mouthful, but it's definitely like a liquid chocolate covered cherry. The name and description fit... Good job o Fallon

It has a dark chocolate taste but a cheap cherry soda/cola/pop finish, it could be better but it an okay beer.

Taste Rating in Words: It's that off brand of soda, that isn't bad but has something just a little different going on.

This smells really strongly of chocolate and cherry. It really does taste like a chocolate covered cherry. It's a unique beer I would not want a lot of but it is as advertised.

Too soda-pop-y. Cherry notes taste pretty fake. Several reviews accuse it of being "cough syrupy". I think they'd a little harsh, but not unsupported. O'Fallon's vanilla pumpkin was smooth, rich, and very "real" tasting, so the artificial notes in this one were a bit disappointing.

Looks like an opaque orange tootsie pop color. Head is stable at a thin ring. 20% transparency.

Smells like a cherry Tootsie Pop. Dead on.

Tastes kinda like I just finished eating a cherry tootsie pop and took a swig of Busch Light. That's not necessarily a bad thing. I can jive with this. It's not robust or overly sweet - just kind of a lingering emptiness of what used to be cherry candy and chewy chocolate. Then you take a sip of beer, and it's complete.

Feel is extremely light bodied and carbonated, hints of stickiness or maybe that's my imagination from a sucker.

Overall, it does what's advertised. A bit on the light side, but definitely not too sweet for me, and the nose is just amazeballs. Not something I'd buy several of, but I'd be willing to sway my non-craft peeps with this one.

Pours a rich, opaque burgundy. The head is fizzy and leaves quickly. The aroma is steeped in cherries, with a chocolate background. It's a nice, comforting smell. Cherry notes are at the front of the taste, with smooth chocolatey notes playing back up. Tastes like your eating some Valentine's box of heart's chocolates. Mouth feel is good. It feels a bit heavy on the carbonation, but still good. Overall, pretty decent beer. The cherry and the chocolate really pop out, so just be aware.

Served in a 12oz snifter.

One of the worst "beers" I’ve ever had. If someone made a chocolate cherry soda, this is probably what it would taste like. Very fizzy. Neither the chocolate or the cherry flavors were appealing at all. Cough syrup mixed with tootsie rolls is a fantastic description.

Deep brown in color with an eggshell colored head. The aroma is different than I expected...intense cherry and intense chocolate...but it is so upfront that it borders on cough syrup and chocolate tootsie roll (cherry tootsie roll?). The taste is sweet, with lots of cherry flavor, followed by chocolate. Intense flavor and full body. This in an interesting beer. Seems a bit artificial, but still, the smell is enjoyable.

12oz bottle. No apparent code date. Appearance: light brown, clear, with little off white foam head. Aroma: Intense bing cherry. Hard do discern any other aroma. Taste: Light toasted, chocolate malt with sweet cherry flavor on the backside. Malt flavor is light and one dimensional. Mouthfeel: Light bodied, quite thin, with low carbonation. Finish: bing cherry flavor lingers well more than any malt character. Overall: This beer tastes as advertised. Malt charter is subdued, and body really thin, which lets the cherry flavoring overpower. With more malt character and body this could be a good beer. Would like to also see more of a true tart cherry flavor as opposed to the sweet flavoring in this beer.

Pours a brown color with a off white inch thick foamy head. Smell of chocolate, cherry, alcohol, and sugar. Taste of chocolate, cherry, a bit lemony, and alcohol on the back end. Light mouth feel, watery, and very little flavor that quickly slips away helps this beer a lot because it has a very artificial flavoring tootsie pop flavor to it that would be overbearing.

I'm not a huge fan of cherry. I originally got this for my wife to try because I figured it would be one beer that she would be willing to try and she might actually like, but she said she didn't even want to try it.

The look, smell, and feel aren't bad at all. The smell is literally of a cherry Tootsie Pop. I thought going into it that I wouldn't like it because I don't really like cherry flavored stuff all that much. While the first couple of sips were pretty decent as time went on, it just got worse. If you love cherry, chocolate, and beer, you will love this. Like I said cherry just isn't my thing.

A- Pours a slightly redish brown. I guess that's the color you'd get from chocolate and cherries together, but I have to admit I was expecting something a lot blacker. When was the last time you had a beer with the "chocolate" in the name that wasn't black or at least close to it. Head is not much-just a splash of light foam, and pretty white at that.

S- Hmm. Not a good hmm. Like a "what the heck is that?" And as I sniff further it comes to me- maraschino cherries- masked in a veil of fake smelling chocolate. It's like you took the liquid from the bright red dye #5 cherries and added to it some mildly alcoholic chocolate syrup from the coffee bar. And glossing over it all is a distinct note of coconut oil. So I get the cherry chocolate thing, but it's not a good combo here.

T- More of the maraschino thing. There's kind of a chocolate covered maraschino cherry, but one that went kinda bad.

M- Doesn't leave much on the tongue which is nice. I wouldn't want to taste this beer for longer than it was in my mouth anyway.

O-Kinda gross. It has the foundation of a good flavor profile, but way too artificial and unbalanced and not enough malt flavor. Not recommended.

Smells and tastes like a chocolate-covered cherry. It's like a melted tootsie roll mixed with maraschino cherry syrup in an overly-carbonated, non-descript beer.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a brown color with amber hues and a 1/2 inch head. Smell is strong of chocolate covered cherry. Taste is milder than the smell. Sweet cherries, chocolate, malts. Feels light in the medium-light in the mouth and overall an unusual and different beer worth trying.

Amber in color with a fingernail of off white heads is barely present. Overly sweet chocolate aroma with maraschino cherry hints. Massive chocolate flavor with maraschino cherry in the background. Flavor cloys heavily. The body is overly carbonated and very sweet.

Poured on 12/6 into a frozen imperial pint glass. Pours a wonderfully rich dark amber color with very low, caramel colored head. The aroma is a delectable combination of chocolate covered cherries with hints of coffee and a little oak. The neer drinks really nice, not nearly as overwelming as I thought it would be. The malt shine at first before the cherry hits your pallet. The chocolate and coffee flavors combine with a sweetness to provide a wonderful finish.

Sampled last night on 11/29/14 but had this once before a few years back. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured in to a flute glass.

Pours a very dark mahogany in color with some ruby highlights with a small white head. LOTS of lacing is seen after each sip which is very surprising. The aroma is fantastic, like a fresh chocolate covered cherry. The taste was WOW! Actually like a Cherry Toostie Roll Pop that is close to the end. Very surprised how good this one was. Very smooth and goes down easy. Medium-bodied with perfect carbonation. A tasty winter seasonal brew.

This has been one of my favorite beers so far. I have never had a beer like this before and when I had this one I really liked it a lot. I think the Cherry flavor with the Chocolate flavor is a great taste. This was this first beer that I have had like this and I liked it a lot. I just wish that I could find it where I live is all. If I could find it where I live I know that I would be buying this beer. If you never have had this before you need to try it if you can find it.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 11/18/2013. Pours slightly hazy ruby brown color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of milk chocolate, cocoa, cherry, cherry skin, fudge, caramel, wheat, brown bread, herbal, and toasted earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance of chocolate fudge and cherry notes with moderate malt presence; and good strength. Smells like a tootsie roll. Taste of milk chocolate, cocoa, fudge, cherry, cherry skin, caramel, brown bread, wheat, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of chocolate, cocoa, cherry, brown bread, wheat, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Okay flavor balance with moderate chocolate and cherry flavors and prominent wheat/bread malt; with decent robustness and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a lightly creamy, smooth, and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is okay. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is an okay flavored wheat beer. Aromas were quite nice, but flavors did not have much robustness of the chocolate/cherry notes. Kind of an odd beer at first, but I had no problem finishing it.

This beer is a fairly thick-looking medium to dark brown, showing the viscosity of a strong porter or stout. The head is creamy from the tap, a tan cap about half a finger tall that creates nice, creamy lacing with strength.
There are a few beers of this type out there, and most go the way of cherry cordial if they get it right. This one goes a different route. It smells like chocolate-covered cherries, but with smooth, bittersweet dark chocolate over heartier cherries that offer more tartness and just a little sweetness. There is a creamy sort of sweetness that rides underneath, though.
This is an absolutely solid beer with a sturdy malts base, far from one-dimensional while keeping the focus where it belongs. There is a roasty note all the way through with a taste strong dark barley grains underneath. Otherwise, both the dark chocolate and the tart cherry carry through, and both are strong on the tongue.
The feel is interesting. It's a bit crisp, and smoothness eases off at the end of each sip, so it could be cleaner. The body's a strong medium but something falls off, barely perceptible, also right at the end of each sip.

Decent color. Head is ok.

This is probably the best part of the beer. Smells like freshly picked cherries and chocolate.

The cherry is overpowering. Wish I tasted more chocolate and beer. Was better near the end though.

A bit more carbonated, but kind of goes with the theme of the drink.

This is definitely beer for the cherry lovers. Felt like an adult version of a cherry pop, so if that appeals to you, I definitely recommend this beer.

Other than the overpowering cherry flavor, everything else about this beer was decent to great! The smell was amazing, and the look and taste were about what I expected.

Would I drink this again? Probably not, but I could see myself giving this to a cherry loving friend.
