Poured from a bottle. Reddish in color with almost no head. Smells of pumpkin, nutmeg and cinnamon. Get pumpkin and cinnamon in the flavor also, not sure where the vanilla is but overall a good pumpkin beer

12oz undated bottle poured into a snifter at fridge temp 5.6% ABV. The beer pours a hazy orange amber with some pretty good snow globe effects. The head is khaki and settles to an island and thin ring. The aroma is pumpkin pie filling. The pumpkin and spices are both there in full. The taste follows the nose with pumpkin, cinnamon and vanilla. No hop presence and the spice is used to balance the sweet elements. Mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied, lowly carbonated and mostly dry in the finish. Overall, as advertised. Not sweet at all, which was a suprise. Recommended if you enjoy the style.

Weathered copper orange in color with a hazy, murky appearance. Poured with a short, soapy, off-white foam with medium low retention. Sweet pumpkin, nutmeg, spices and vanilla aromas. Medium bodied with medium light carbonation and light creamy smooth feel. Grainy and sweet malt, pumpkin and vanilla flavors followed by spicy flavors into the middle. Spicy, acidic hop bitterness through the middle. Pumpkin, nutmeg and grainy malt flavors on the back end. Finished with a spicy flash of boozy heat followed by pumpkin and light nutmeg aftertaste. Balance tilts toward to the spicy side after a sweet, pumpkin start. Nice flavor and taste complexity with good drinkability.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 7/6/2017. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, vanilla, clove, brown sugar, lightly toasted biscuit, light caramel, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of pumpkin, spices, and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, vanilla, clove, brown sugar, lightly toasted biscuit, light caramel, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/spice bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, vanilla, clove, brown sugar, lightly toasted biscuit, light caramel, and herbal/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of pumpkin, spices, and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly clean finishing. Lightly increasing dryness from bitter/spiciness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, fairly crisp, and lightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.6%. Overall this is a delicious pumpkin ale. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of pumpkin, spices, and bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and quite refreshing to drink with the mildly bitter/spicy finish. Very flavorful for the ABV. Authentic pumpkin flavor with great balance of spices and bready malts. Nice vanilla presence that isn't overdone. A very enjoyable offering, and great style example.

Poured into nonic pint.

Appearance: A very orange amber color. No head, and the lace quickly dissipates.

Nose: Prominent nutmeg, cream, faint pumpkin.

Taste : Pumpkin comes out. Malt back makes it taste a bit like pumpkin bread. Nutmeg again.

Feel: Light, but not watery. Very smooth.

Smells slightly better than it tastes, but the taste is quite pleasant. If your only intel on pumpkin ale is Shipyard, give this a try.

Admittedly, I'm not a pumpkin beer fan. However, nice smell of spices and nutmeg. Nice vanilla sweetness with pumpkin at the end. Memories of Thanksgiving with pumpkin pie. Can't drink many, but worth a try.

Poured from 12-ounce bottle into goblet. Big aromas and flavors of vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. Not overly sweet, which is a plus. Mouthfeel is on the thin side, which is a minus. Finishes clean and crisp, with a little astringence and some lingering spiciness on the palate. A pleasant and drinkable seasonal brew.

Poured into a nonic pint glass.

Look: Hazy copper burnt orange. Nice cream colored head that doesn't recede much. Random splotches of lacing.

Aroma: Earthy pumpkin, cinnamon, faint vanilla creme ??

Taste: Vanilla creme with cinnamon spice. Not much pumpkin. Creamy sucrose sugar and milk cream.

Mouthfeel: Creamy.

Overall: Probably the best pumpkin beer of the pumpkin 12 pack but pumpkin flavors very vague.

Pours clear crisp orange. Smell is some cinnamon and clove with a hint of pumpkin and tons of vanilla. Taste follows the nose. Nice smooth flavor, notes of vanilla clove and cinnamon. Balanced but not overpowering pumpkin flavor. Beer is on the thin side, but not unexpected for an ale. The vanilla really adds something here - it's sweet. But enjoyably so.

L: clear Amber color with no head
S: cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin spices that are familiar and looking for
T: the vanilla is in the finish, a very nice touch to the initial pumpkin flavors of cinnamon and nutmeg
F: so thin it's distracting from the flavors.

Not retired probably limited but mis marked.
Pours a Slightly hazy dark orange brown with just a 1/4 inch of foam that settles to a light ring. Smells of pumpkin and spices with a nice bit of vanilla mixed with cinnamon. Much better than the classic the vanilla really makes it very enjoyable and vegital bitterness really takes a backseat which I enjoy. Body is medium bodied and chewy what I expect in a pumpkin beer. Schlafly pumpkin is still a better ale since the spices are stronger but this is tasty too!

This site says vanilla pumpkin is retired, but I just picked it up at HyVee grocery in Belton, MO. Sweeter than Schlafly pumpkin ale, rounder. Both are fabulous.
Schlafly with dark chocolate, O'Fallon with something spicy or salty to balance the sweet. Or just all by itself.
I love fall.

My wife picked up a 12 pack of mixed pumpkin beers. This was the first of the set that I tried. It is a hazy, orange-gold color with a negligible head. The aroma smells more like a pumpkin muffin or cake, over-flavored with vanilla, than it smells like a beer. It is all spice and sweetness. The taste follows suit, with sweetness, some spice, and cake-like qualities. Medium in body, semi-sweet, and flavorful. I couldn't have too many of these,

12oz bottle. Poured out an orange/amber color with a small, white head. It smelled of pumpkin and nutmeg plus some cinnamon. Subtle vanilla aroma. Nice sweet pumpkin taste with pumpkin pie spices and a dash of vanilla.

Poured into a snifter.

3.0 A: Murky dark orange brown color. One finger of frothy beige head. Retention is poor and a lone wisp of lacing is left.

4.0 S: Very nice aroma on this. Pumpkin and caramel with molasses are the strongest aromas. Cinnamon and nutmeg spiciness. The vanilla adds a layer of complexity and it isn't overly powerful. Rather, it allows the pumpkins and the base beer's sweetness to flourish.

4.0 T: The taste is just as good. It's mellow and smooth. The spices above are there to complement the pumpkin and caramel/molasses maltiness. The malt base is perhaps a bit doughy, but it's pretty neutral overall.

4.0 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. It's not overly creamy, but it does have a nice velvety texture. Super smooth.

4.0 D: Surprisingly good beer. For whatever reason I've never though much of O'Fallon, but this is starting to turn that around.

Poured from the bottle a dark, hazy orange color with one finger of beige head. Light lacing left behind.

Faint aroma of pumpkin puree and light pumpkin pie spices.

Tasted of pumpkin puree, light vanilla notes and a hint of cinnamon.

Light-to-medium bodied with a moderate carbonation.

A pretty decent pumpkin ale from O'Fallon. Not overly sweet like many others tend to be.

Had on draft at the O'Fallon Brewery. The color was gold with a touch of amber and the complexion had a light haziness to it. There was a fingernail of off white around the rim and about 1/3 of the top. Light lacing was present. The aroma was pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, and faint vanilla. I tasted pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a touch of vanilla. The mouth was very light and quite quaffable as the spicing was judiciously done.
