Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pilsner glass. The appearance is a slightly cloudy amber color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is alcohol and yeast. The taste is acidic and betrays the ABV.

EDIT: Having the last of of these, I am now upping the rating on the aroma (from 1.5 to 3): there isn't much there, but whatever is there, is not bad . Definitely some interesting/complex sweetness going on in the flavor, there is something in there that is almost like honey. A good to very good beer.

12OZ bottle. Good amount of carbonation when opening; pours a beautiful golden-hay color, with a wonderfully light-tan colored head. Very little aroma. Good flavor up front, but not much at the back-end. However, it is very smooth. And, now that it's warmed a bit, there is much more to the finish: can definitely taste the malt. There are some aspects of it that remind me of a barley wine, which I like.

I called the brewery to ask about the bottling date, and she said it is probably about 5 years old. After calling, I noticed a alphanumeric on the neck: 1193S?, So I am guessing it is a Julian date: 2011, 93rd day, which would put it at about 4.5 years old. She said something to the effect that it is at it's prime. I never had it fresh, but I can easily believe this is the beer at it's best.

Not a Pilsner or Lager. Much more like a Porter. Not bad for a Porter.

Enjoyed from a 12 oz bottle
From one of my favorite breweries, the fantastic alt pours a beautiful amber brown with a very
nice off white head that dies down to a very nice layer of foam and great lacing. Nose of fresh
bread, caramel malts, and light chocolate malts, and a light herbal hop note. Most excellent
flavor profile for the style. Sweet malts up front, sweet bready malts to the front and sides,
caramel and chocolate malts to the back and aftertaste, and a light herbal hops character that
lightly lingers in the back. Smooth delectable mouth feel and fantastic aftertaste. One of the
best alt's I have ever had. Period. Will purchase more if available. 7.5 percent is a creeper
that is lightly hidden by the great flavor.

Cheers!

Pours a deep amber color with a tan head that fades to some lacing. Aroma of malt caramel, dark fruit and hint of alcohol. Taste of malt, caramel sweetness, bit of dark fruit and spice. Mild bitterness with a dry but slightly sticky finish. Fairly medium body, smooth and malty with a definite feel of the alcohol. Enjoyable beer, reminds me of an Altbier but with a extra splash of alcohol.
