Dull appearance without head. Watery smell that roughly reminds me of beer, but I can't tell. Taste is lacking any flavor of beer. Bad without body, flavor, or taste. Mouthfeel was like sucking on water with a hint of beer. I could not have another one of these beers.

Most of the time when I say a beer is gold I mean that it's just a nice shade of yellow. But this beer--this is GOLD. This is like enhanced, QVC jewlery kind of gold.

Smells weakly of simple malt. Very weak.

Tastes very much like it smells. Seltzer water up front, moving into a slight hint of sweetness, ending in the horrible malt of a macro. Mix Bud and club soda and this is what you get.

This is a pretty beer but that's it. Avoid.

As I travel around this great world I like to taste the local beers. Being that was in O'Fallon, I figured that I'd have an O'Fallon Gold.

That was probably not the best idea that I had today.

The beer poured into the pilsner glass and looked quite good; a nice rich darkish golden color. That is where this beer's good points ended. There was no smell to speak of and there was no taste to speak of. It has less flavor and body than say the St. Louis staple, Bud Light.

Weak head.

NO FLAVOR to speak of. If you concentrate, maybe you can detect a whisper of hops followed by a hint of malt.

I can't say that it tasted bad because it didn't taste like anything at all. It was a complete waste of time.

I guess that it's a beer for people who want to look like they are driking something good but don't really like the taste of good beer????

I'm not sure how this place stays in business. Maybe their other beers are OK. I wasn't really in the mood to keep experimenting after having this one.

Beer pours a very nice golden color, a little lacing in the head, maybe a little watery though, doesn't stay around for long. Smell is yeasty and malty, reminds me of a halfway drinkable macro, maybe MGD. Taste follows suit, nothing that good about it, leaves that macro feeling in your mouth, bleh.

I realize that a lot of breweries feel they need to make a beer like this to attract the BMC crowd, but for me, it turns me off from this brewery. I bought all of their regular brews and am hoping it gets much better from here.

12oz bottle; more elaborate label that the one pictured

Orangey-straw color with a thin ring of white bubble, no lacing.

Smells sweet and slightly bready.

Not much taste, light caramel.

Very watery mouthfeel, besides the carbonation sting.

I wouldn't normally buy this beer anyway (was brought back from a roadtrip by my brother), but I won't be buying or drinking it again. Very light, very watery and trace hops- almost tastes like an Non-Alcoholic beer.

12 oz. bottle tried 18 Jan 2009.

Poured in shaker pint glass. Small white head, well carbonated. Clear bright gold color. Smells lightly of malt and some metallic earthiness. Starts with a touch of sweet grain. Somewhat tart like unsweet grapes, unripe stone fruit. Powdery mouthfeel in finish. Thin water body.

Would not get this again.

12 oz bottle poured into Sam Adams glass yielded a decent head which disapated to nothing faster than Usain Bolt runs 100M. Smell is not pleasing, a bit like bad apple cider. Taste is unremarkable, overripe pears, not much in the way of hops. Hate to say it, because I suppose this stuff qualifies as craft beer, but I'd rather have something "super cold" or "triple-hopped" than this. With a fridge full of great beer ready and waiting, this one went down the drain.

Appearance: Pours a ncie meduim golden color with a wispy, bone-white head.

Aroma: Somewhat sweet nose, with a somewhat grainy focus.

Taste: Lots of carbonation supports a fairly weak palate. Some hops and malt, but nothing distinct.

Mouthfeel: Thin and slightly watery. Short palate with a nonexistent finish.

Drinkability: Quite ordinary, with nothing special to show. Won't try again.

O'Fallon Gold pours a lofty head that collapses quickly over a clear amber brew.
Carbonation is pretty sedate, and the nose is lager yeast and malt. The flavor is
light barley malt up front with a hint of some kind of hop in the finish. Barley grain
in the aftertaste. Might have been interesting if it was hopped a bit more. Got it 'cause
it was part of a variety pack. You win some, you lose some. Not competent enough.

O'Fallon Gold
12 oz bottle
Medium pour in a goblet
Recent bottling, prospected 11/06

Poured a clear dirty gold (orange and brown tints on yellow) with a white fizzy quickly diminishing head.

Smelt of light perfume and grass hops with light malt tones.

Taste was upfront light bittersweet biscuit and perfume hops followed by a light bitter dirty grain on a short finish. Palate was light bodied, watery and fizzy.

Overall, its too watery and simple to be sipped on and enjoyed. I'm disappointed I had to get a glass dirty for this one. A tasty summer quencher straight out of the bottle, at best.

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Color is a hazy golden amber. Fizzy white head that jumps up at first but quickly recedes. Decent lacing. Smell is a little grassy with some honey sweetness and a lot of vegetable notes. Taste is almost like broccoli with malts. There are some other hop flavors, but I can't get over the vegetable flavor. Mouthfeel is light/medium bodied. i don't think I would want to try this again.

Big gold color with huge carbonation bubbles that ultimately leave a very thin, wispy head. Strong grain and caramel aroma. Syrupy sweet flavor with a sharp, metallic bitterness; grapefruit; twinge of brown sugar. Medium bodied but very coarse on the tongue.

A very mediocre beer, very disjointed as far as mixing all the malt and hop components together in a satisfying, well-balanced package. Not a drain pour, but pretty forgettable. Rough and bruising and, personally, I'd rather have a canned Budweiser...

Got this beer from Mandy, thank you.

Poured into a pint glass at 41 degrees.

Appearance: A golden blonde yellow color. There was a one finger ivory head. The head dissipated very quickly.
There are a lot of effervescence in the beer. The clarity of the beer is slightly hazy.

Nose: A moderate sweetness with some fruity esters.

Taste: A moderate amount of malty sweetness, there are some fruity esters and some bready/toasty on the end.

Overall: The mouth feel of the beer is carbonated and tad dry. The body of the medium light, and the finish has an odd after taste that is offensive. This beer represents it style pretty good. There are few things that I don't like, there is this odd phenol/solvent flavor.

Beer that comes from the Ofallon brewery always has a very distinct smooth mouth feel to it. In a good way....
I personally think it's some type of water treatment or the source of their water.
This beer is no different. I could tell immediately that this was an Ofallon brew, simply by mouth texture.
This is a pretty light Lager beer. Golden in color with a small amount of head, medium carbonation, and insanely clear.
It has a fairly crisp taste, and a faint smell of yeast and carbonation.
I think it falls short in the flavor, both malt and hop. Its seems a little light on both... and the price was a dollar more per six pack than similar craft beers in my area.
Maybe the lack of flavor was due to drinking this on a cold November afternoon. I will try this beer again in the summer. I think it would be a way better lawn mower beer on a nice hot summer day.

Good looking pint – looked somewhat gold/amber with a nice whitish head, but I was in a darkened Timber Creek Bar & Grill. Faint malty aroma. First taste in the mouth was fairly grainy, and balanced with the hops. But, I agree with a couple other reviews, this beer has a strange and not pleasant finish – a kinda funky, bready, almost reminding me of an old stale lager. Maybe just my taste, but I only had 2 pints and switched to something else.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a Duvel tulip. Could not find any dating on the bottle. Slightly hazy, yellow body with a good off-white head. Poor retention and no real lacing.

The aroma is a bit off-putting. The first whiff smells like spoiled or old fruit. If you keep trying, there is a bit of malt in there but it's in the background. The aroma does remind me of a bad macro lager.

The flavors are a little better. Very much like a basic Lager crossed with a weak Kolsch. Some grainy malt and a hint of sour bitterness on the back end.

I like this brewery's 5-Day IPA, but this one disappoints. ,

12 oz bottle pours a somewhat hazed gold color with very little white foam. A little disappointing looking beer, really.

Nose consists of cream soda sweetness, buttered toffee and a kiss of pear-like fruitiness. Not impressed here either.

Flavor is a bit better, but still has a little buttery graininess to it. Very little hops, yeast is fairly tame and pretty much maintains a light feel to it all the way through. If you're into craft, this one aint for you. But feel free to have a sixer in the fridge for your macro friends if you are so inclined, they wont know the difference.

A grain front, that fade to a slight lemon middle that is quickly gone, ending with a pinch of bitter.

Taste Rating in Words: It's almost like a blanket on a hot funner day.

Very nice coppery gold color with a very modest head that is gone if you blink.

The aroma is very mild, mostly sweet malt as far as I could tell.

The taste is mild sweet malt with just a hint of caramel and a bit of floral hops that shows up a little more in the aftertaste along with a hint of cardboard..

Light/medium bodied and easy enough to drink. A little on the sweet side but still light on flavor. Not bad, but not particularly interesting either.
