can- puts a hazed golden ale in the glass with a 1 finger cap that lasts and goes to surface lace - aromas are demure - sweet malts and some grassy notes - flavor profile is much like a robust lager but with sharper hop presence and a deeper body...silken mouth feel,,,rounded body, smooth slick delivery...tart hoping and rich malts - very decent golden - world class for the style

Pours a slightly hazy gold with a minimal head. Zero lacing present. Smell is pretty malty and not that bad. Taste is malts with a bit of hops. Feel is a little lighter and decent carbonation.
A very drinkable beer. I could zip through a number of these in a session. It is neither impressive nor unimpressive. A middle of the road beer.

Pours deep clear gold with a crackly, patchy head. Cracker maltiness and some light citrusy, herbal hops in the nose. Berries, lemon, grapefruit, fresh mown grass in the taste. Rather full bodied for the style with moderate carbonation. The finish is lightly bitter and citrusy.
A very nice Blond Ale, but could be a bit more complex. Saint of Circumstance by CA is far better. Still worth a try, and your macro drinking friends will like it.

Tallboy picked up at the LCBO; packaged Sept 19 2016 and served well-chilled. Poured it into a glass anyway...
Pours pale golden-blonde in colour, with some chill haze, but an otherwise clear complexion. One finger of soapy white froth appears at the surface, fading off over the next 2-3 minutes; a foamy collar frames the perimeter of the liquid afterwards, floating just beneath a thin ring of lacing. Good mix of pale malts and hoppy notes on the nose - biscuity sweetness and grainy bread, alongside grassy, floral hops and a slight hint of citrus. Hints of orchard fruit become more noticeable as the glass continues to warm.
The taste falls along the same lines - there's a pleasant backbone of doughy, biscuity pale malt sweetness, accompanied by a relatively assertive hop profile (for a blonde) which dominates the back end. I checked their website, and wasn't surprised to learn that they used Cascade hops for this one - their tell-tale citrusy, floral bitterness really shines through to the finish, which features a fading grassy astringency. Light in body, with relatively high carbonation levels that provide a crisp, prickly texture. Very refreshing, and certainly above average for a blonde ale, but I think I prefer their Saint of Circumstance by a few marks.
Final Grade: 3.84, a B+. It's a pretty good beer, but don't be surprised if you find Stash Straight Up Ale to be a little less memorable than Collective Arts' other products. That may partly be because blonde ales just aren't very exciting to a lot of BAs - but from the stark difference in label art on this can vs. their others, I think it's likely that they're aiming for a broader audience this time around. Still, it's plenty flavourful and hoppy enough to make for an enjoyable beer-drinking experience, whether you're a seasoned beer geek or not. The price is also about right. An easy-drinking ale that one could probably pound one after another, all night, without issue.

473ml can - kind of a plain-looking label for this typically artsy outfit, eh?
This beer pours a hazy, pale golden yellow colour, with three fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and bubbly off-white head, which leaves some streaky low-lying cloud bank lace around the glass as it quickly subsides.
It smells of bready and doughy pale malt, some biscuity caramel, a sugary apple and pear fruitiness, and very tame leafy, grassy, and floral green hop bitters. The taste is gritty and grainy caramel malt, a touch of toffee candy, mixed pome and citrus fruity notes, hints of wayward son yeastiness, and more gentle leafy, earthy, and grassy hoppiness.
The carbonation is adequate in its basically supportive and structural frothiness, the body a decent medium weight, and mostly smooth, with a wee airy creaminess arising as things warm up a tad. It finishes well off-dry, the big malt and attendant fruitiness the lingering order of the day.
Overall, this is simply what it proclaims to be - a straight up ale, i.e. no big hop overdose or other adjunct tomfoolery. Malt, malt, and more malt, with just the perfunctory nod to some understated and unloved bitterness, Stash will satiate your sweet tooth, especially if you've recently gotten into that other indulgence of the same name.
