Our Sour Pumpkin Saison is truly unique mash up of styles and flavours. We started the brew as a classic Saison, utilizing a traditional Saison yeast to provide both spicy and earthy tones. We put our unique spin on this beer two ways. First, during the brewing process we inoculated the wort with Lactobacilius for 24 hrs, this gives the brew a refreshing sour flavour. Second, we added locally grown and roasted pumpkins and traditional pumpkin pie spices. The final product is a pure magic, sweet and sour, spicy and refreshing and creatively unique.

Moderate pour yields a 3/4 inch white head over a slightly hazy golden body with scant lacing. Nose of pumpkin, tart citrus, and ever so slight pumpkin pie spice. Taste mirrors nose with the pumpkin pie spice building a tad with each sip. Pronounced puckering tartness from middle to end. Good feel and overall, definitely unique offering from Hamilton Ontario. Cheers!

A: The beer is slightly hazy yellow in color and has a column of bubbles rising from the center of the glass. It poured with a short white head that died down, leaving a large patch of bubbles in the center and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of pumpkin spices such as nutmeg become prominent in the nose as the beer begins to warm up.
T: The taste is a little sour has has some flavors of pumpkins along with notes of pumpkin spices in the finish.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a little tart on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is an interesting fall take on a sour ale. I liked how the pumpkins and pumpkin spices were not overdone.

Handsome rusty orange, proper-sized head. Looks appetizing. Tart nose, characteristic yeasty saison aroma. Some spice, pumpkin evident, but neither of these is overpowering. a rather gentle hand given the style -- which is too often just pumpkin pie spice in the face. Similarly evenhanded on the palate, pumpkin and saison a pretty decent pairing. I like this brewery for its skill and imagination, this is only an average offering for them. Drinkable, but not to blow you away.

Pours hazy straw with a shortlived head that doesn't muster up much lace. The aroma is lemony tartness with pumpkin pie spices and a bit of vinegar. The taste is moderately sour with allspice and ginger in the forefront. Allspice and cookie dough maltiness in the back. Light herbal hoppiness in there too. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a sparse, prickly carbonation. The finish is dry and tart with lingering pumpkin pie spices.

An interesting sour beer. Not as heavy handed with the pumpkin pie flavors as I expected, with quite a bit of ginger presence. Very interesting and worth a try. Any kind of spiced beers aren't my thing though.

A-Hazy yellow with head that disappears very quickly
S-Musty notes of acid and must. Feint cinnamon and nutmeg aroma
M-Light to medium mouthfeel with heavy carbonation
T-Peppery on the tongue with a puckering sour and acidic follow-up
O-Perhaps I was in the mood for something different and this beer delivered. Quite obtuse and upfront with acidic sour and a spicy pepper sizzle

Can: Poured alight hazy amber color ale with a large foamy head. Aroma of tart notes with some cinnamon and nutmeg. Taste is a mix of citrus tart notes with some cinnamon and nutmeg with a thin finish. Body is light with OK carbonation. Quite a bad mix from a usually very solid brewery.

Golden orange with large and small bubbles, a slight haze and a finger of white head.

Smells of pumpkin, vinegar, and Belgian yeasts.

Sour, then pumpkin, then a hint of Belgian yeasts.

Light body, dry and crisp with soda like carbonation.

Got in Belleville, ON, just under a month ago on my way from Montreal to Kitchener. My Bro had one under autumn leaves on a park bench near Cambridge, ON at night a couple weeks later, and now I am having mine in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Really good brew. Love that it really is sour, not just paying homage to an ideal and definitely has pumpkin taste in it as well.

473ml can - so, now it's come to this - a 'sour' seasonal pumpkin, Imma gonna say 'ale'?

This beer pours a glassy, medium golden yellow colour, with three fat-ass fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and somewhat fizzy off-white head, which leaves a bit of hovering invading alien spaceship lace around the glass as it genially recedes.

It smells of yer typical pumpkin spiced ale - cloves, ginger, white pepper, cinnamon, and nutmeg - all over a wan, weirdly yeast-infected pale and wheaten maltiness - sure. The taste is the same season-friendly pumpkin ale, blended with the trendy kettle sours of the day - milky astringencies, generic sweetness, and little more, which seems to be an ongoing theme so far here.

The carbonation is fairly active in its typical walk through the park frothiness, the body a so-so middleweight, and sort of smooth, I suppose, as the supposed sourness doesn't possess the cojones to mess about here. It finishes trending dry, the pumpkin character trying desperately to get out of its contract, as the sour bullshit takes pride in its ascendance.

Overall - Christ on a crutch, what a dumb idea - like these two fringe brewing concepts have any need to be mashed together, as such. Both are taken down a peg or so in the process, which leaves me, the drinker, wondering what the hell were they thinking?
