Deep brown to black pour with short lived tan/brown head. Aroma is mildly roasty with caramel, cafe au lait, and dark chocolate note - hint of smokiness.
Taste starts fairly sweet with caramel, a bit of plum, and then some bitter chocolate with hints of licorice. Medium full mouthfeel - nice and creamy - chocolate lingers with some persistent bitter sweetness. Really good.

Got this one from hopsolutely this past summer. Cheers!
From a 16oz can into a snifter
APPEARANCE: Clear black pour yields a big, 3+ finger, slightly looser, foamy, light brown head with good retention. Black body with some carbonation evident. Head gets really potholed and slowly recedes to a foamy cap and leaves chunky lacing on the glass. A swirly wisp remains until the end leaving decent lacing on the glass as it empties. Nice body but kind of an uglier head on this one.
SMELL: Roasted malts, leather aromas, some light notes of chocolate and tobacco as well. Bold too.
TASTE: Roasted notes, cacao flavors and leather notes up front. Flavorful. Some black malts, coffee and chocolate at the swallow, moving into a bold and bitter finish with roasted flavors, black malts, leather and tobacco notes, as well as some chocolate and coffee bitterness.
PALATE: Medium-fuller body and medium carbonation. Creamy and smooth on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes a bit dry for the style. Some decent bitterness lingers. Good feel.
OVERALL: Good stuff. Lots of good aroma and flavor with a great feel to go with it. These guys have been impressive since the get-go and I would say this is their most enjoyable stout/porter beer to date. Another great example of how good Collective Arts is and how happy we should all be that they’ve taken up the brewing project. Cheers!

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into my snifter. THe beer pours a rich cola brown color with no light passing through the glass. A dense yet fluffy khaki colored head of 3 cm foams up with a gentle pour. the foam fades slowly leaving large craters on the surface and windowpane lattice on my glass.
Aroma is pretty robust straight from the pour with dark chocolate, roasted malt notes and a bit of coffee grounds. I also get a more chalky cocoa powder note which is different than the dark chocolate bar up front. No hops and the booze is well hidden on the nose.
First sip reveals a silky smooth textured brew with very fine and tingly carbonation. Slight coating on my palate after each sip with a bit of stickiness on the swallow.
Flavor is very malt forward, with similar notes from the nose. I get roasted malt and the cocoa powder again. There is a bit of toffee or caramel in the middle but then this mixes with a strong coffee ground and slightly charred wood note. These flavors make for some bitterness on the finish, which I dont attribute to any hops.
The ABV is very well hidden on this highly drinkable brew. A nice Imp Porter that I enjoy this chilly NOvember evening.

Pours near total black with a tiny caramel shell around the edges of the glass. Frothy espresso head coats the glass in foam. Coffee, cocoa powder, bitter roasted malts in the nose. The taste is very roasty with rich dark chocolate and coffee notes. Some orangey hops in the back. The mouthfeel is full bodied - just south of oily - with a light carbonation. Medium bitterness in the finish. Alcohol heat is there but modest for the ABV.
A nice Imperial Porter with great malt depth. Worth a try.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a tulip glass.
Pours a near pitch black color with 2 fingers of soapy caramel head. The head leaves lots of clingy lacing as it settles into a blanket of foam.
The aroma brings lots of molasses and toffee, with some mild hints of dark fruits. Then comes a wave of baker's chocolate, roasted coffee, and charred leather. Definitely on the bitter side, but pleasant.
The flavor starts off sweet, with notes of caramel, molasses, and toffee. Then it gets a bit nutty before a wave of earthy, bitter hops. Finishes semi-sweet with notes of chocolate and malt. This is surprisingly hoppy but still pleasant and well-balanced.
The feel is medium-full bodied with soft carbonation. Very creamy and smooth with a dry, bitter finish. The alcohol is nicely hidden.
Overall, a great porter that is very roasted, bold and bitter. Though there are plenty of sweeter notes to balance everything out. Nicely done.

Had poured from 473-ml. can, no canned on or other date, into faceted mug. This limited release Imperial Porter is huge, roasty and hoppy, with just enough espresso and caramel at the back to keep it manageable.

Beautiful looking beer, big head that settles to a firm cap, tons and tons of lace. Dark walnut colour. Dark bitter chocolate and coffee of the nose alongside sweet malt and molasses. Similar foavour profile, just a touch of ash and some roastiness. Simple stuff, not overly complex. Drinkable.
