Notes: Fruity, bitter hops, berry, mango, peach; a wonderful interplay between the earthy bitterness, the nuanced fruity berry character, and the piney funky tropical depth. The resinous character of the hops shows through in a tongue-coating mouth feel. You’ll really feel saturated by all the hops. Delicious.

COLLECTIVE ARTS RADIO THE MOTHERSHIP DIPA 5/7/17

I confess I bought this Canadian offering because of the amusing name.

Poured from the 16 oz. can into a Lawson's stemmed tulip.

a: Translucent orange with an inch thick white head which receded to thick surface foam and dense lacing. So far so good.

s: Surprisingly bland. Maybe some vague biscuit.

t: Follows the nose with more biscuity strength along with a pretty strong hop bite which lingers on the dry finish. later some citrus notes finally develop, leaning to orange and grapefruit.

m; Medium plus, very good body and carbonation tingle.

o; A different DIPA, as though a hefty German lager had a load of hops added whose flavor hid out until...Overall flavorful and substantially satifying.

L: Hazy gold with a small white head. Medium retention, and some lacing.

S: Big dankness, slightly warming alcohol, peach, mango, orange, lemon, pineapple, pine, cat pee.

T: Lemon, orange, and peach upfront; followed by slightly toasty biscuity malt, honeydew melon, and green grape. Big weedy dankness on the finish, slightly grassy and earth, then more grapefruit, honey, and pineapple.

F: Mostly full-bodied, smooth, well-rounded, moderately carbonated. Finishes lightly crisp and lightly dry.

O: A really good NE DIPA with some West Coast leanings. Dank but also fruity, smooth but slightly shows its strength. A very enjoyable beer.

Pours out a slightly hazy yellow color with a thin white head on top. The smell of the beer has some bright funky hops on the nose. The taste of the beer is nicely Hopped with a light malt bill. The feel is sharp and crisp. Overall I really enjoyed this beer. Pretty much exactly what I want in an IIPA.

Beam me up Scottie? Will a great adventure await? Let us find out.
Poured from a November 21/2019 batch can into a wide tulip. Pours amber orange with slight opaqueness although i do prefer a cloudier IPA. Excellent collar here that lasts well. Nose is decent. Nose is soft fruits with grassy undertones. Quite subtle for an 8.5. Taste is excellent - sweet fruit comes through with a very smooth finish again surprising given the ABV. Been waiting to try this so glad I found it!
Beam me again Scottie...I’m yours....hic!

Poured into a 13 oz Tired Hands Teku glass canned on 9/13/17. Pours a nice orange yellow with a half inch white that leaves little lace behind.

Smell is tangerine, guava, passion fruit, pine, and grapefruit rind.

Taste follows tropical upfront, with a nice bitter piney / grapefruit finish that lingers on the tongue awhile after each sip, but not overwhelming.

Mouthfeel is medium, very gentle carbonation, a tad dry, and drinks very easy for 8.5 % ABV.

Overall this is a very nice DIPA, more West than East, but kind of stuck in the middle. I wish it was a tad more carbonated for looks and mouthfeel, but still a very good DIPA.

This beer was very drinkable for the 8.5% ABV. It had a nice peach and tons of pineapple flavor which I enjoyed, but I found the beer to be overall too sweet for my preference.

Appearance - Pours a warm gold with three fingers of foamy white head that fades quite quickly.

Smell - citrus and tropical hops, bready malts, earthy yeast, citrus fruits (grapefruit, orange), and tropical fruits (mango).

Taste - Citrus and tropical hops at the forefront followed by the bready malts and earthy yeast. The citrus and tropical fruits are the star of the show with the malts acting as a nice supporting member.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sticky with the hops lingering.

Overall - Another winner from Collective Arts. The citrus and tropical fruits are at the forefront. The ABV is well hidden making this brew dangerously sessionable.
