After the never ending battle between the hop heads and sour lovers, we decided to appease the two. Using Nelson Sauvin from New Zealand and Citra from the Pacific North West, this mixed fermentation brew is juicy, sour and extremely refreshing. Nelson adds a white grape and passion fruit base, while Citra explodes on the nose with lime, lychee and grapefruit. Sour and hops in perfect, thirst quenching, melody!

Carbonated, but without any head, it arrived in a clear pint glass, drawn off a tap. The color is an opaque yellow-amber. There's only a hint of fruit and sourness to be smelled. This is a refreshing sour beer. It's ironic that something that feels so wet on the tongue can also taste so dry. The stated goal was to appease both the hopheads and sour lovers and this could actually pull it off. It is more sour than hoppy, but Saisons aren't supposed to blast one with a hop overload. It's also a pleasing sour, more rounded than just drinking something reminiscent of vinegar. The mouthfeel is light, but satisfying with its body. Again, this is a very refreshing Saison.

Light golden straw colored, clear and very bubbly looking with some orangeish sediment at the bottom of the glass, pours with a good three fingers of light puffy, white colored head that has amazing retention and leaves loads of webby lacing.

Loads of aroma to it, remindes me of five-alive, tons of limes and other citrus fruits nice tropical notes pineapples and some papaya as well as a faint white grape and grassy hint to it.

Tart, tangy but not over sour front-end, balanced, bright and fruity: lemon, lime, pineapple some light hints of passion fruit and white grapes as well as faint grassy, floral notes forward.

Lightly sweet, clean malt base with faint hints of wheat and a ghostly lactic trace, very light bodied, almost a little too light, with a very high amount of bubbly carbonation to it.

Faintly grassy hop finish with light floral/ herbal notes to it that linger on the aftertaste along with a slight buttered wonder-bread flavor

Pours a fairly clear yellow, with fine foam.

Smell is mild overall, with some tart notes of lemon hard candy and orange peel.

Taste is balanced with nice tartness and notes of lemon and oranges joined by a soft citrus peel bitterness and some floral notes. Very refreshing!

Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated.

Overall, a very nice, refreshing sour, maybe a bit lacking in depth.

Amazing explosion of carbonation! pours the beer with tremendous head and an intensive myriad of bubbles rushing up to the surface in this stangely pale-colored brew. And this farmhouse ale is hopped to an extent that it smells and tastes like an elderflower lemonade. It IS sour. It is almost like a gose or rather like a berliner weisse but with zesty, citrusy fruitiness that supports the sourness, it really becomes a raw grapefruit flash. Boom!
Loving it. Not only it is an amazing farmhouse ale and a good sour, it is also hopped with a perfect balance to achieve this treasure. Not as mesmerizing as Prairie Artisan Ales though, but it is a perfect piece that I greatly enjoyed. Another one sick brew from Canada, way to go!

Yellow, slightly greenish in color. Almost tennis ball yellow. Hazy.
Tropical smell, with a biscuit overtone.
Taste is great, bright at first with a tartness in the middle (doesn't quite reach sour for me), then leaves a lingering biscuit taste. Very sessionable for a sour, doesn't threaten heartburn like stronger sours do imo.
Feel isn't really noticable--about medium light, doesnt distract me from the taste.
I wish this wasn't limited, this is something I would dedicate half a shelf to myself, maybe a full shelf come summer.

Appearance - Pours a pale straw with two fingers of bubbly white head.

Smell - citrus and tropical hops, pineapple, mango, passionfruit, biscuity malts, vinous aromas, and earthy yeast.

Taste - Citrus and tropical hops upfront then followed by a moderate level of sourness but not overpowering then goes into the pineapple, mango, passionfruit, and vinous aromas. The biscuity malts and earthy yeast finish the brew off.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes off-dry with a lingering tartness.

Overall - A well executed take on the Saison style from the folks at Collective Arts. I like that this brew is not too sour which makes it very sessionable. A nice cohesive marriage of all ingredients make this brew a standout.

473ml can - I don't really think that hopheads and sourheads will ever truly agree on anything, with few exceptions.

This beer pours a hazy, pale golden yellow colour, with two fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and somewhat fizzy off-white head, which leaves a bit of crumbling sudsy webbed lace around the glass as it evenly subsides.

It smells of crisp orange, white grapefruit, and lemon citrus rind, indistinct melon flesh, gritty and grainy wheat malt, a bit of lacto tartness, faint earthy yeast, and more heady leafy, grassy, and piney green hop bitters. The taste is grainy and crackery pale malt, a lesser edgy wheatiness, some Sauv Blanc vinous character (gooseberry, lychee, and citrus, sans the heat), a generic mixed fruity/lactic sourness, and more zingy grassy, herbal and piney verdant hoppiness.

The carbonation is fairly restrained in its workaday frothiness, the body a decent medium weight, and sort of smooth, as both the hoppy and tart esters don't really interfere, but they don't help, either. It finishes trending dry, with a nice blend of lingering graininess, hops, and mild fruity sourness.

Overall - this is indeed a well-wrought meeting of brewing styles, much in the vein of what Four Winds out in BC produces. The robust fruitiness of the hops meshes seamlessly with the sour essences, making for one refreshing and enjoyable drinking experience.
