Pint can: 5/19/19 opened on 6/28/18

The classic hazy-opaque appearance is a bright orange and golden color with a white foam, thick but very bubbly, kinda quick to fade away, not much leftover, no real lacing.

The first whiff is all fruity additive, smells mostly like grapefruit. The Mango brings out sweetness along witj vanilla adjunt. Once again, a sharp, tingly passion fruit aroma that really does smell like just grapefruit. The malt and vanilla settles it down to a smoother sweetness.

This ipa really tastes like a sour ipa from the mango and passion fruit adjuncts. The mango doesn't really add much seeetness, and just like nose has a big grapefruit tanginess. The pale malt and vanilla add a touch of sweetness and lactose adds a rounder, smooth effect in both flavor and mouthfeel. The effect of whatever hops are in here is pretty muddled by the mango and passion fruit thing. I think there is a very subtle tone of earthy bitterness from the hops, deep down.

The mouthfeel and texture is light to full!! Seriously, the malt is light and bright witj a sour, tangy fruit thing but then the lactose kicks it into smooth and silky textures, which feel at least medium bodied.

I like the creativity of the fruit, vanilla and lactose additions, Lactose is a favorite adjunct additive for me because of the robust texture, smooth and silky style. Honestly, not a big fan (actually dislikes very much) of the fruity blend additions. I feel the hops can speak for themselves. Blending adjuncts is a very artistic endevor, which fits this Brewery very well, but their straight ipa's have amazingly bold charecter from just the hops. I feel like the fruity additions dominate to the point of totally muddling up the hop....or ipa flavor. If I think of this one as a tangy-mango and grapefruit sour ipa, I'm o.k .

For someone who doesn’t love IPAs, this mango vanilla milkshake was absolutely delicious with little to no bitterness and lots of mango flavor. Only thing I was surprised by was the smoothness ofnit for being a milkshake ipa. Expected it to be a little thicker.

Overall a delicious beer for even those who don’t love IPAs!

The picture on the can is exactly how I felt tasting this. Just horrible. One of the worst beers I have ever sampled.

Got this one from the LCBO this past summer

From a 16oz can into a snifter
Milkshake IPA with passion fruit, mango and vanilla

APPEARANCE: Small, thin white head that vanishes quickly. Murky, opaque amber orange in color with no real carbonation. Head quickly fades to a ring only but finishes flat looking. Looks like bright, amber juice.

SMELL: Lots of mango, passion fruit, tropical fruits and a touch of vanilla. Very fruity, and the fruit additions are lovey.

TASTE: Excellent stuff. Piles of mango and passion fruit up front. Plenty of sweet tropical fruits. Big aftertaste of tropical fruits, mango, passion fruit, a bit of bready malts and some light vanilla cream flavors from the lactose. Lovely NEIPA and the fruit additions are great.

PALATE: Medium body and medium levels of carbonation. A little fizzy on the palate, not quite as creamy as hoped, goes down fine and finishes a bit mouth-coating from the fruit.

OVERALL: Collective Arts continues to rock out the hop forward stuff. This fruited IPA is the bees knees. Love it. This is one of those beers that changes your ideas about what you should be brewing on the homebrew set up. Fruited NEIPA here I come. Wish they made this as a regular in their line-up. Killer.

16 oz can into IPA glass. Dated JUL 6/18 (I think, hard to read).
Beautiful hazy golden milkshake look. Smell is tropical fruit, apricots, mango. Taste is mostly mango and passionfruit with smooth ending. As it warms is has a little sour fruit taste. Feel is creamy. Overall a very interesting milkshake beer that has lots of complexity.

(2018)

Pours like fresh orange juice or pineapple juice with a quickly dissipating white foamy head.

The aroma is mainly sweet tropical fruits like mango, pineapple, and passion fruit.

Taste is a lot of mango/passion fruit juice with some hops (but not that much). I get maybe a slight hint of the vanilla but I can't tell if it's there or not. Some bitterness on the back end - but, again, this drinks mainly like fruit juice.

The consistency is creamy and juicy. There's some carb.

This is my time trying a beer like this - a NEIPA with added fruit and lactose. I was pleased overall, but I do wish there was more of a hop presence. I was also excited to find vanilla here, but I didn't get that. All in all this is a tasty beverage and I'd try it again.

L: Poured from a tallboy can to a pint glass. Had a yellow-orange color and a thick, cloudy consistency. There was a quarter inch of foamy head that quickly dissipated. Pretty good lacing.

S: A very nice aroma of tropical fruit, hops, citrus, malt, lactose, and vanilla.

T: Tasted of a mild amount of malt (mostly in the finish), a bit of vanilla, a hint of lactose (not overly noticeable), lots of hops, a ton of tropical fruit (mango, passion fruit), and some citrus (orange). Definitely a fruit bomb here, but that's not a bad thing. It's vibrant, sweet, and easy to drink. Tasty stuff.

F: A fair amount of carbonation with a juicy, smooth finish. Medium-bodied.

O: On the whole, a completely likable NE IPA. Drinkable.
