didn't know these guys had anything out for distro, so was excited to see it sitting at the beer shop. dumped into a pint glass, a beautiful brown ale with a chocolate brown/black color and a smooth light brown frothy head that has sizzled away to a foam cap and lots of lacing. toast, chocolate, caramel, and hints of coffee, with a developing sweetness as it warms.
toffee and caramel blend with a smokiness and dark chocolate, and a vanilla sweetness breaks through to keep everything in check. really quite the punch for a regular brown ale. pretty full bodied, good carbonation, and just overall a pleasure to drink. some good stuff. if you find it pick it up.

Poured from a can into a tulip glass.

A: Coffee-brown and opaque in color, thin tan head that recedes after a couple minutes in the glass.

S: Roasted malt, smoke, baker’s chocolate, a little vanilla.

T: Dark chocolate, espresso, black tea leaves, liquorice.

M: Low carbonation, medium body. Though darker and more opaque than a typical brown ale it is not heavy like a stout or porter.

O: Overall a good brown ale. Lacking a little complexity on the palate but very drinkable and enjoyable otherwise.

Darker than a typical Brown Ale, but still very tasty. It drinks easy, and it's nice and toasty. Overall, I'd say it's everything I am looking for in a Brown Ale.

On draft in a nonic pint glass

Dark brown in color, cream colored head. Chocolately malt aroma, a touch of coffee roast and nuttiness. Similar taste. Mildly sweet. Full bodied.

Very nice brown, with minimal head, a caramel nose, which couples with tea notes and honey in the flavor. Feel is brisk, and easy going. A very pleasant experience overall.

Poured a deep dark brown color with a small, tan head of foam. It smelled of caramel, toffee and chocolate. Nice sweet flavor with chocolate and caramel. A citrusy bitterness adds balance.
