Love it. Pours a hazy dark golden color. Not much head out if a tap but I think the pressure is a touch low on this tap so that may have affected it. I get a lemongrass smell, not a super fragrant beer IMO. Nice creamy, clean mouthfeel. Definitely get the basil, peppery flavors. Enough carbonation to still be refreshing. Get the hops kind of on the back end. A great beer, easy to drink, and made 10 minutes from home. I've had a chance to meet alot of the Brew works crew and they are awesome people making awesome beers. A must try.

Good lace but small head. Gold and nearly clear

Spicy nose and flavor which comes across as licorice and peppery.

Pours a clear, copper color. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of strong yeast, smoke, sweet malt, slight pale malt, hint of hop, and strong biscuit. This is not a Saison, but it is really good beer. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of ginger, slight yeast, hint of hop, alcohol, slight spice, and slight sweet malt. Overall, good appearance, aroma feel, body, and blend.

really fun beer, i think the potential of basil in beer is only starting to be realized. this is cool with the rye too, the spice and the herbs, really makes for a well matched and interesting complexion here. just a pale rye malt it seems, maybe a little medium crystal barley malt in here too, its got a bit of an orange hue, simple there, the rye really stands out in the flavor and is a nice earthy spicy bready not quite dry foundation for the basil, which is not at all too strong, but is very distinct and fresh. a very genovese italian profile to it, leafy and vegetal and fresh. these flavors love the yeast, which isnt way out there or too old world in this instance, a cleaner belgian type, that really plays up the herbs. i have seen these done with flowers like elder and dandelion and hibiscus, but very rarely culinary herbs, occasionally rosemary, but almost never basil. i wonder why not, the compatibility is obviously high, especially in this style. i love the slight hoppy character amplifying the basil, and i like the citrus notes in here too. rye keeps an even keel throughout. just a great beer, wholly unique, very enjoyable! so much food potential for this one too! A good slice of wood fired pizza would be my starting point...
