12 oz. can. Hazy orange. Big white head. Grapefruit and resiny hop aroma. Slightly sweet malt on the nose too. Tastes of grapefruit hops. Aggressively bitter. Light sweet malt flavor. Pithy back end. Medium light. Pretty drinkable. It is quite bitter, but that doesn’t bother me much.

A: Pale apricot orange in the glass, fairly cloudy, with a medium amount of white head on top.

S: Lots of grapefruit peel. Not a lot of malt character in there, perhaps a touch of orange in the finish.

T: Assertively bitter, with strong grapefruit peel flavors. Light malt character, the finish is oily bitterness.

M: Light, with medium active carbonation. The finish is oily, and clings with a residual bitterness that is long, and assertive.

O: Overall I think the bitterness is a little too intense in this guy.. Or perhaps just a different variety of hops. This is a too heavy on the hops for something I want to drink all day, if the variety was more of a tropical fruit variety, I think it would be more sessionable.

These guys grow their own hope, AND BARLEY! Wow!

From a can.

Pours a moderate orange, a bit on the golden side, with a 1 1/2 finger rather substantial, white head that leaves thick, attractive lacing.

Nice florals in the aroma with a little ripe citrus. Buttery. Fresh hop aroma.

Taste is more subdued than the flavor, but definitely hop forward. Tart citrus and bitter citrus peel dominate. The bitterness lets up just a bit in the middle and some sweet malts peek through, before the bitter hops take over once more. Some occasional over ripe citrus.

Light in body with light fizz. A bit of syrup on the tongue, and slightly drying.

This is a good IPA. Not spectacular, but pleasant and rewarding nonetheless. I wouldn't hesitate to try this again.
