19.2 can poured to tulip.

Pours a hazy pink-gold, 1 finger of pinkish head disappears to just a few bubbles.

Aroma is wonderfully jammy raspberry, excellently executed.

Taste reflects sweet raspberry jam with a little fresh raz tartness. Background notes are bread, mint, and basil.

Mouthfeel is on the light side. Nearly no sustained carbonation, so any bite is all from the raz and hop flavor

Overall a well executed fruit beer that makes an excellent presentation of the fruit. Base beer is not distracting from the fruit, can't say I pick up much in the way of Belgian yeast ester notes. Lack of carbonation loses it points on mouthfeel and look, and probably would have perked the flavor a bit. Still, if you like raspberry, this is one of the better examples.

From notes taken 05/01/17:

Deep but bright mixed apricot and blood orange, opaque but too consistent to seem truly hazy. Fast-dying fizzy orange-cream beige head, two fingers on first pour, one on second. Raspberry smells almost artificial or modified like those “blue raspberry” dumdum suckers that are one of my favorites. We also have a very light vegetal aroma, interesting but not a distraction and common to many Belgians. Palate is very saccharine in the balance. Caramel is sweet enough and then raspberries are thrown in. Still a treat, but a fresh from a new bottle Framboise Lambic, with its more over tartness, is generally preferred. Saving graces beyond the semi-tart raspberries themselves are a grassy suggestion throughout, faint earthy hops (and look at the label which says English Hops and 30 IBUs, I’d say I’m getting the hang of this) manifesting themselves the most near the finish, and mentholated and peppery retro-olfactory notes. It has grown on me a little more with each sip, even a couple times after I thought it would cease. Medium-bodied, plain, inactive, and creamy for a second or two before moderate amounts of fine fizz show up and then promptly turn to fine velvet. A little heat between swigs. Definitely some tannins.

Orange-red body; lively carbonation; very thin, wispy white head. Strong raspberry aroma. Malty and berry flavors; somewhat sour; powdery yeast hints. Heavy body; sweet yet ultimately dry finish.

Raspberry dominates the aroma and a good bit of the flavor. A tart dryness also pervades things. Overall, the beer flavors reminds me somewhat of a raspberry flavored cough drop. Not bad for what it is, and if you favor fruit flavored beers, this should fit the bill.

this is the kind of thing these guys do really well, and i liked this beer quite a lot. it doesnt have as much pink to it as you would expect for what it is, but the fruit aroma and flavor are both quite prominent, rising well above the belgian yeast and hops that define the base beer, one of upslopes best. there is a tartness to it, fresh ripe raspberries have this piquant property before the sweet comes on, and this captures that moment really nicely, you would almost think there is a little souring yeast action in here because of it. nice jammy berries in the flavor, and i think the belgian yeast is a great companion to that, with some fruitiness of its own, but also the capacity to dry it out in the end. sort of a floral raspberry element, like if raspberries were turned into a mild fragrance or something, i dig that. still kind of malty like it always has been, and still with some hop bitterness as it winds down. refreshing and very well carbonated, it drinks a lot lighter on the alcohol than it is too. cool beer, cool series.

Stovepipe to a munique glass.

Interesting color. Hazy and turbid pink-hued liquid, like grapefruit juice with a splash of orange juice.

Smells like a hefeweizen to be honest. Banana notes from the yeast and some clove. Tart and fruity raspberry on top.

Flavor is again leaning more towards a hefeweizen than a Belgian pale ale, although there is a floral quality that I also perceived on the nose that suggests Belgian. Swirling into this banana, clove and floral mix is a tart and sweet, sugary raspberry flavor. I enjoy the combination but also find it to be taxing on my tongue. Maybe too sweet, maybe too much banana and clove. Something about the flavor makes me want a limited quantity. Then again, I keep drinking and I want more. An enigma.

Got the hefe feel so it's kind of marshmallow-like initially before the tart and fruity entrance. For a while, I wasn't enamored by the sweetness but either I adjusted to it or it found a balance as I drank it. Either way, I came around.

It's unique. Recalls grapefruit juice, raspberries and hefeweizens. Interesting.
