Notes: Baller Equinox-based double IPA. Yellow-orange and hazy; lasting snow-white head and lacing. Quintessential Grimm DIPA tropical aromatics. Dry and bracingly hoppy on the palate, with big fruit notes of peach, orange, and pineapple. Soft tingles of chive and green, resinous hoppy flavor. Some surprising spearmint/wintergreen notes make an intriguing appearance. Finishes with a firm, clean, and lasting bitterness.

This beer is a bit sweet with a mango, slightly apricot flavor. It's hard to pin down because it's a bit convoluted. It's pretty good, just not distinctive in any way. The smell was a little underwhelming with no pungent hops to be found (could be that it's not super fresh). The mouthfeel was the best part with a fairly soft, smooth, drinkable IPA.

Had a second can and enjoyed it more. Maybe my palette was off the first time or maybe the second can was fresher/travelled better, but I think the flavor works well with a little bit of a sweet mango or passion fruit taste balanced by a big back end bitterness. I'm raising smell (more pronounced with second can), taste and overall by a quarter point.

Pours a hazy dark orange with a high white head. Smell is pineapple, solvent, hot peppers, animal funk. The taste when cold is mostly chives and black pepper and unripe peach; as it warms, it develops notes of hot pepper and raspberries and maybe salami. Thick but not cloying. A solid beer.

Not Geimm's best effort. Pretty pedestrian IPA who's rating is padded by the Grimm name. There are other NYC beers rated lower which are significantly better. While it's not a bust, it's certainly not the best beer by Grimm

Pours golden and hazy with ample head. 16oz can pour into a shaker pint. Citrus, tropical fruit, pine/forest on nose(very aromatic). Medium body with a short finish. Aggressively bitter, but balanced with a strong fruit presence. Lemon rind and orange zest on palate, short/medium finish. Very drinkable. Malt backbone holds up but is not dominate.

Poured from a can, dated 2/1/21.
Looks opaque hazy yellow, a thick white head and lots of lacing.
Smell and taste are full of hops, herbal and citrus, dank and resinous tones blending with fruits. Light crackery malt base lends a bit of sweetness.
Nicely balanced, lively, with a dry finish.

Overall excellent, glad I picked it up!

decently hazy, but not murky. pours an orange color, nice foamy head. smell is mostly citrus with a slight breadiness to it. taste is all hops, no malt: citrus and pine with some sweetness, almost no malt taste notes aside from the sweetness. feel was good as always. another decent brew from grimm.

On tap, pours a mostly clear light gold. Smell has somewhat indistict tropical notes and other fruits. Taste is fruity but with some spicy herbs and some resinous pine. Decently bitter. Nice beer.

On draft at Tip Tap Room. C-hop overload... citrusy and dank, some grassiness and a distinctly west coast hop profile. Reminds me of some Port Brewing stuff I've tried. See through appearance. A bit conflicted on this one... $11 a pint is steep but if you find it in cans, snag it.

16oz. can into a Brooklyn Brewery snifter.

A touch lighter in color than most. Nose is Sprite, lime, citrus, and starfruit. Fresh and very aromatic. Beer opens fresh. I get hints of pear, starfruit, and a dank juiciness. Fresh cut grass and citrus in the middle with more starfruit and some lychee towards the finish. Solid. A somewhat unique flavor profile. Body is light with ample carbonation. Prickly and lively on the palate and goes down crisp and aggressive. Dry, lingering finish.

Pretty good. Really fresh flavor profile.
