Margarita meets gin & tonic with Grimm's exploritory sour ale that celebrates the salinity of northern German "salt" beer and the lime and pine character of gin for a combination of tastes that are highly agreeable together in the glass.

Super Spruce pours the pale canary-yellow hue and modestly hazed look of traditional gose, along with a short frothy sheet. Its scent is chocked full of citrus and spruce with tangy cider and white wine tingle on the nose. Supple sweetness greets the palate with light grain and wheat in shortbread fashion.

Crisp, clean and sharply lactic, the beer's overcast of sourness quickly overtakes the malt and brings a host of lemon, lime, crabapple and sour white grape to the middle palate. Playful saltiness brings a brisk seawater character while giving a robut and juicy fruit flavor. Sprinkled with coriander and a heavy dose of spruce, the beer's high juniper berry closes the taste with muddled sappy pine needles.

Light, crisp and clean, the beer's efforless body and piquant sourness becomes a highly drinkable, thrist quenching affair that promotes a quick rate of consumption. Brisk acidity washes the palate and closes with an echo of spruce and lime.

22 oz bottle was poured into a tulip glass.

Appearance: A one finger head was poured that reduced to a nothing quickly. It is a hazy golden yellow color with good clarity and vision of tiny bubbles.

Smell: Piney spruce, citrus spruce, lemon, lime, wheaty, and bready.

Taste: Spruce forward flavor followed by bready mslts, some saltiness, tart, pucker, and chewy notes.

Mouthfeel: Light, tart, a little pucker, some saltiness, medium to high carbonation, crisp, and refreshing.

Overall: Got to admit that the spruce tips add some great flavor to this beer and cut out part of the tart and salty notes. I'd revisit this again. Cool stuff.

M- Good carbonation.
D- Wow... A truly unique beer. Will seek out again.

Light gold in color and very hazy. There's a fingernail of dishwater white on top. I smell salinic salt and faint light spruce. I taste a very salt forward beer with a hint of piney spruce. The mouth is lightly acidic with the heavy salting, but is light, crisp, and refreshing.

Bomber poured into a wine glass.

A- hazy golden with a wispy, sudsy head. Lace aplenty. 5

S- Incredibly fruity aroma. Pineapple, mango, passionfruit. Tart and a touch salty. 4.5

T- Starts off really piney. Spruce-y I guess. Then veers tart, lemon-y, and finishes with a jammy berry flavor. 4.25

M- Light, but creamy feeling. Tart and almost bone dry. A touch salty in the mouth. 4.25

Excellent. Very well done.

Appearance: Slightly hazy golden-yellow with small bubbles forming a solid white head that slowly recedes with nice lacing.

Smell: Lemongrass, slight leather

Taste: Earthy and cedar sourness carried through by juicy lemon. Tastes like a pine cone!

Feel: Smooth, lush and juicy to start, with a sourness that puckers and dries with carbonation

Crisp sour with mild fruitiness and unique woody flavor. Very enjoyable.

Poured into a goblet.
A - Pours a cloudy straw color with a small white head.
S - The aroma is citrus, lemon and a bit of spruce.
T - Flavor follows the nose with noticeable lemon and spruce notes, and fairly tart.
M - Light and crisp mouth feel.
O - An interesting beer. The spruce and lemon combo works better than I expected. Glad I tasted it.
