A: The beer is very hazy pale light yellow in color. It poured with a finger high bright white head that left some patches of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of sour limes are present in the nose along with notes of spruce tips.
T: The taste follows the smell but has stronger and more balanced flavors of spruce tips.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I enjoyed the taste of this beer as you really got a lot of spruce tip flavors without it being overpowering.

Margarita meets gin & tonic with Grimm's exploritory sour ale that celebrates the salinity of northern German "salt" beer and the lime and pine character of gin for a combination of tastes that are highly agreeable together in the glass.

Super Spruce pours the pale canary-yellow hue and modestly hazed look of traditional gose, along with a short frothy sheet. Its scent is chocked full of citrus and spruce with tangy cider and white wine tingle on the nose. Supple sweetness greets the palate with light grain and wheat in shortbread fashion.

Crisp, clean and sharply lactic, the beer's overcast of sourness quickly overtakes the malt and brings a host of lemon, lime, crabapple and sour white grape to the middle palate. Playful saltiness brings a brisk seawater character while giving a robut and juicy fruit flavor. Sprinkled with coriander and a heavy dose of spruce, the beer's high juniper berry closes the taste with muddled sappy pine needles.

Light, crisp and clean, the beer's efforless body and piquant sourness becomes a highly drinkable, thrist quenching affair that promotes a quick rate of consumption. Brisk acidity washes the palate and closes with an echo of spruce and lime.

22 oz bottle was poured into a tulip glass.

Appearance: A one finger head was poured that reduced to a nothing quickly. It is a hazy golden yellow color with good clarity and vision of tiny bubbles.

Smell: Piney spruce, citrus spruce, lemon, lime, wheaty, and bready.

Taste: Spruce forward flavor followed by bready mslts, some saltiness, tart, pucker, and chewy notes.

Mouthfeel: Light, tart, a little pucker, some saltiness, medium to high carbonation, crisp, and refreshing.

Overall: Got to admit that the spruce tips add some great flavor to this beer and cut out part of the tart and salty notes. I'd revisit this again. Cool stuff.

Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) can into a Tree House snifter; canned on 11/12/18.
A: Pours a hazy, golden color with a brief, less than one finger, white head, retention quickly no more than a rim, and no lacing.
S: Tangy with aromas of grapefruit, lime, vanilla, sea salt, and pine. Very grainy up from with a touch of straw.
T: Dry to semidry and tart. Lime replaces grapefruit as the dominant citrus in the flavor pallet, sea salt very evident with toast and eucalyptus notes. Bitterness very much present, if a touch in the background.
M: Medium bodied with light carbonation. Clean finishing.
O: Really appreciate the use of novel flavors in a Leipzig Gose. Well balanced. Very enjoyable: could see drinking this on a hot summer day, pining for cooler weather.

Holy hell, this one surprised me. Every time I go back for a sip I'm pleasantly surprised with the wave after wave of piney goodness that's balanced by a lovely salty cracker flavor. The nose is like lemon pinesol but in a good way!

This was poured into a stange. The appearance was a hazy yellow color with a nice transparency about it. Carbonation could be seen rising at a rapid pace to fill a slim quarter finger’s worth of white foamy head. Spotty messy lacing sticks to the glass nicely. The smell starts off with a sharp crisp sweet citrus bumping into the spruce. Leans more toward the lemon as it warms up. The taste was mainly the same but ends up lacking a bit on the salt content. Mild sour lemon aftertaste leads into a quick dry finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a good sessionability about it. Carbonation seemed to hit appropriately. Sourness hits dryly on my tongue. Overall, this was a pretty good gose though the saltiness seems to be lacking a bit. I like the spruce idea. I could see myself coming back to this preferably in the Summer.

Bottled super spruce pours a completely translucent golden straw color. Aroma very subtly of spruce tips, but first thing I get. I love beers with spruce tips, very special. Smells sour, slight saltiness.
Taste is great, nice variation of a hose. You get the sour, salt, and the breast backbone with slight slight pine. I'm sure Grimm intended the level of spruce the way it turned out, but I wish it had a stronger spruce presence. Anyway it's probably my favorite hose nonetheless.

L: Hazy and opaque, light straw color.

S: Juicy, hoppy, and tart. Missing out on piney-ness.

T: Mildly tart and salty to start, then hoppy bitterness, with a light wheat finish with a little lingering bitterness.

F: Juicy.

O: Flavor combination keeps you interested, but nothing that overwhelms its drinkability. Refreshing. Probably good on a hot summer day (drank on a snowy night.)

Hazy-clear white.
Smells citrusy and lactic.
It tastes incredibly citrusy and light. Almost watery. There's an odd herbal note that could be actual spruce. Fun and enjoyable.
Nice gose.
