Neon Lights is a delicately complex hop-forward farmhouse ale. Huell Melon and Hallertau Blanc hops complement the funk from our blend of yeasts with notes of lemon rind, strawberry, and a hint of dank. Crisp with a refreshing snap of bitterness. A step beyond Liquid Crystal in our quest to refine the perfect quenching hoppy saison. Draft only, 30bbls brewed at Flagship in NYC, April 2016. Because we used German malt and hops, we named it after one of our favorite kraut rock jams.

Hazy lemon yellow with moderate carbonation, and 4 fingers of fluffy, off white head. Huge gusher even without agitating the bottle.
Smells of pears, apples, caramel and phenols.
The taste follows the nose. Its accentuated with deep bitter notes, a slight hit of granny smith green apple sour.
Medium body with an abundantly foamy carbonation.
Got this in Upstate New York, drinking in Muskoka, Ontario, April 3rd, 2018. Decent farmhouse ale.

well made beer here, but i had higher hopes for this one. i am guilty of always expecting the world from grimm beers, but this recipe just didnt pop me off. the thing about it, is that its a real delicate beer, its low alcohol, light bodied, real dry, and not overly funky or interesting on the yeast front, despite being a little wild tasting, and so the excessive hop bitterness thats here just seems like way too much. in fact, it really dominates the back half of the beer, much to its detriment in my opinion. part of me likes if for being more old school in that respect. too many of these farmhouse styles get dry hopped with new world varietals until they are so juicy and fruity that the yeasts are covered up. this is almost hopped like a bitter pilsener, grassy and bitter and still very clean, but i just think its overdosed for how mild the rest of the drink is. clear and bright in the glass, easy drinking save the aforementioned hoppiness, and with a cool clean saison strain and light bretty finish. subtle citrus here, earthy spice, and a clean overall complexion. its really well done beer, but this bitterness is gripping and i think it blows up the beer a little bit. still a fun one to drink and a nice break between some incredibly heavy beers in a monumental session this weekend!

Poured a 3F head in tulip glass with a light pear color. Lacing.
Excellent aroma- especially for a Saison. Tropical fruit, citrus, mellow tangerine, stone fruit.
Nice tartness. Not too carbonated- an issue with some Saisons.
Lots of earthy citrus in the taste, but I would have liked to see a better transition from the aroma with tropical fruit.
Warming brings out the fruit better.
Light bitter finish- just right.
One of the better Farmhouse Ales I tasted in a while. I have greatly enjoyed the beers from this brewery.
This Saison is not overdone, not too carbonated nor bitter which can dwarf the taste. Easy to drink with lots of flavor.
