Berliner with Blueberries, Blackberries, and Oak. A delightfully balanced, tart and fruity berliner. Delicately dry hopped with German Tettnang and Huell Melon. Complex yet smashable with flavors of black fruit and spicy oak tannins.

May 2016 bottle.
White head. Raspberry color.
Kind of boring at this point. Fruit has faded a ton. Can’t really tell what fruits are there. Sour and tart. Drinkable, but boring.

Apparently you’re suppose to enjoy this fresh, but I don’t know, it’s still pretty stank, if not maybe more so.
Looks like slightly hazy raspberry lemonade with a nice foam head that has multiple levels; a frothy melted sorbet dollop left behind from the initial yeasty eruption. Then some nice, loose lacing leftover by a primordial spittle of bubbles. Tastes like it advertises, the black and blueberries intermingled in a tart-fluff effervescence. Not perfect but solid with a manageable abv that lets you enjoy another in the near future

Reviewed from notes. Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into an El Catador Barrel-Aged glass.
A: Hazy dark purplish red – almost like blueberry juice. Forms a thin white head with decent retention, at least as some amorphous foam. Low amount of visible carbonation.
S: Underripe berries, lactic tart, and lemony citric acid. Light cracker malts underneath. Mild vanilla and some even lighter funky notes – but while this does smell tart, it doesn’t come across as funky.
T: Mixed berry fruitiness, a tartness like barely underripe blackberries. Lactobacillus tartness held in check, though certainly present. The dry citric lemony acid seems more prominent than on the nose. Light cracker malt body, and still a vanilla sweetness which gets more pronounced as it warms some. More berry and Lacto tartness on the exhale, and finishes dry and fruity.
M: A light body, no alcohol presence to speak of. Carbonation sensation on the low side for style but acceptable.
O: A pretty enjoyable beer. The mixing of the berries kinda muddles the whole affair I think, and if you’re looking for a sour bomb you need to look elsewhere. I'm not sure if the vanilla is from some kind of wood aging (I don't get any woody tannins), but it adds a nice dimension. The fruits are natural and fresh, the tartness is in balance, and it’s an easy drink. While this may not be worth actively trading for, I’d certainly ask for a pour anywhere I found it.

been ripping through my stock pile of grimm sours that I have acquired over the past several months and have been really enjoying them for the most part. this one is also good, but maybe the combo of blueberry and blackberry doesn't translate as well with the beer as some of the other fruits? the beer doesn't fall flat...it is gorgeous in color and the nose is phenomenal but the fruit in the taste is just there without adding to the magic that it does to the look and scent. would like to try another batch of this for sure and the fruited Berlin erst in general are worth checking out.
