Medium-gold body, slightly hazed, coupla fingers of white foam and lace trails down the side... Big tropical fruit, dark and fleshy, wrapped quickly in resinous pine bitterness. Solid body, little bit of chew; tongue-gripping bitterness... Features Rakau, Kohatu, and Wakatu hops from NZ... 8% abv... canned 7/12/16; brewed at Beltway Brewing in Sterling, VA.

Actually consumed 7/21/16, but my review was originally (mistakenly) appended to the 2015 release of Cloudbusting.

Great opaque gold color with a thin pure white head on tap. Little lacing to speak of.

Orange candy, slight bubblegum aroma.

Candied orange with a nice resin supporting note and a malty sweetness towards the end. Warmth brings out a grape bubblegum flavor, especially just as I take a sip.

Medium body, smooth feel.

Overall very good beer. NZ hops are showing well here, but not in an excessively bold way, which I appreciate.

Poured from a 16oz can into a Spieglau IPA glass.

Look is a rich hazy orange with a frothy white head.

Aroma is a candy orange. Slight herbal pithy orange peel at the end.

Body is a little thin, but taste is excellent. Again candy orange, but not overly sweet.

Excellent beer.

On tap at Joe Bean Coffee Bar in Rochester, NY.

This one pours a bright glowy orange, with a small tight head, and lots of lacing.

Smells like pineapple, melon, orange peel and orange flesh, a little bit of pine, and grapefruit.

This is another pillowy and soft NZ hop masterpiece from Grimm. It's got a soft candied melon and pineapple going on, with lightly sugar dusted orange peel, tart grapefruit, and just a small hint of piney and rind-like bitterness on the finish, keeping it a bit more balanced than some of Grimm's absolute juice bombs. This is very tasty stuff here.

This is lighter bodied, crisp, pillowy, and very soft, with a good level of carbonation.

This whole series of beers has been quite nice. Grimm is super dialed in when it comes to hops these days.

A pint can with no visible date recently received from a generous BA poured in a Weyerbacher tulip for the review.

Look- Pours a pale yellow/straw color with a generous two fingers of beautiful creamy white foam. It settles leaving a pattern of intricate lacing behind.

Smell- Heavy malt, grapefruit and a hint of orange zest.

Taste- Grapefruit, floral notes and some orange zest. A very hearty dose of malt follows.

Feel- Thick, slick, malty and quite easy to drink for 8%.

Overall- A beautiful beer to look at, but a little too much malt for me and not enough hop flavor. With no date on the can, I'm not certain if age may be a factor? Lack of dating is still a problem with craft beer that needs to be addressed. That aside, it's still a very good beer, but lacks the juicy hop flavor which would take it to the next level.

Pours with a nice white head golden as it awaits in my snifter. Aroma is citrus and crushed orange candies. Taste is orange crushed candy again, citrus, light pine to a light malt finish. Another excellent brew from Grimm. Look forward to more from them.

2016 release
~ 1 month from canning date

Appearance- Pours a bright golden color. Very hazy. Pillowy and creamy white colored head, tightly packed bubbles. Tons and tons of spotty head lacing, stays and hangs on glass.

Aroma- Juicy berries, strawberry, blueberry, blackberry. Fleshy and sweet plum, ripe melon. Tropical fruit juice, pineapple and mango. Citrus juice, grassy, Touch of dankness.

Taste- Juicy, juicy fruitiness. Bright berries, mostly strawberry. Sweet ripe melon. Sugary plums and grapes. Pineapple juice, citrus smoothie. Orange creamsicle. Some earthiness on the finish, fresh cut grass, very very mild bitterness.

Feel- Medium bodied, its very very light but the creaminess just gives it a fuller feel. So very smooth and velvety. Moderate carbonation. Perfect feel for the style.

Overall- A monster home run. This has all the juiciness of the style, but different than I've ever had. Its not just the usual tropical or citrus juice bomb, it adds in the berry juicy element and darker fruit juiciness. Layers upon layers of fruits, just a touch of bitterness on the finish. This one is incredible.
