Notes: What would happen if we took an imperial berliner weisse base recipe and hopped it with an overwhelming dose of Citra, Simcoe lupulin powder, and Mosaic lupulin powder? We decided to find out. Packaged with plenty of hop dust in the bottle; you can choose to decant carefully for a smooth, fruit-forward drinking experience, or rouse before pouring for a rough-hewn, maximally hoppy swallow. Delicious both ways!

A light gold and hazy beer with a white head that retreats to big bubbles around the edge of the glass. Smells very much like grapefruit pith with a hint of sour. The taste is really good with tons of grapefruit and a finish like a bitter lemonade. Not a very sour beer at all but a really tasty beer.

On tap, pours a light straw gold. Smells like an amazing fruity, hoppy IPA, but the taste reveals a restrained sour. Thin-ish feel. As it warms there's a bit of the wild funk in the smell, but it's subtle. Really good beer.

On tap at the Griffon Gastropub. Very peach citrus fruit juicy and tasty. Not too tart.Cleanly executed and enjoyable, though a bit of a sipper.Worth seeking.

Bomber bottle, July 2017

Great looking brew, heavily clouded, yellowy, fine bubble off white cap, leaving fine strands of lacing...

Biting sour and citric nose....pungent and freshly fruit filled

Deliciously tropical fruity, with lemons, limes, mango, pineapple.

World class sour/wild ale...go get some of this delicacy and enjoy/savor every sip

July 2017

Hazy straw yellow capped with a thin layer of soapy bubbles. Dank, oily hop aromas meet tart acidity...musky tropical fruit, hay, earthy citrus, peppery herbs. Flavor is bright, tart, and hoppy. Grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, and spicy hops, finishing tart and juicy. Clean, light body drying out to a moderate pucker. The whole sour IPA thing doesn't always work for me, but Grimm knows what they're doing and this is quite enjoyable.

Cloudy greenish yellow color. Full head which recedes slowly in chunky clumps. Good 3D lace throughout the tasting.

Light prickly pine hop nose. Only a hint of sourness.

LIghtly tart with pale ale malt base flavor. The finish has a subtle bitterness with a stronger sourness. All in all, very nuanced. Thin bodied with an elevated carbonation level. Overall, this is a subtle sour but still full of flavor.

Gold in color with a moderate sedimentary haze. Later pours reveal a heavy amount of sediment. Light lacing in the glass.
There's a quarter inch of frothy dishwater white on top. The aroma is of grassy hops and lactobacillius. I'm tasting grassy to earthy hops and a light cider to green apple flavor. The mouth is moderately carbonated and dry.

Drank from a 1 pt. 6 fl. oz. bottle purchased at Porter Square Wine & Spirits, Cambridge, MA
July 2017
Served in a tulip

Nearly clear, golden yellow appearance. The body was topped by an inch-tall, super tight and frothy, bright white crown that fell to a thick collar. Some streaky lacing stuck along the glass. As the beer sat, the chill hazed dropped to reveal a transparent body.

The nose was amazingly hoppy and bright. Passionfruit dominated. Loads of lemon. Good amount of lime too. Bit of tart wheatiness. There was a subtle sweetness that, combined with the lemon, reminded me of lemon candies. Slightly spicy. Coriander perhaps. Touch of dry yeastiness.

The flavor was similar to the nose but more simplistic. Quite tart and lemony right off the bat. Lemon and grapefruit rind-like notes appeared as the beer moved along the palate. Fairly pithy, dry and bitter. A touch spicy in the center. Lime notes appeared on the back end. The rind-like bitterness crescendoed on the finish. A nice mix of tart, bitter and slightly sweet lemon notes lingered after the swallow.

Extraordinarily light, fluffy mouthfeel. Super frothy and smooth once settled on the palate. The liquid contained an incredibly fine yet intense carbonation. Perfect for the style.

I love that nearly every offering in Grimm's sour beer program is extraordinarily well balanced, highly drinkable and reasonably priced. As many other reviewers have noted, Living Daylights tasted more like a highly hopped Berliner Weisse, or even perhaps a brett-infused IPA, than a typical American wild ale. Overall, a really enjoyable beer, perfect for a hot summer day.

Not much nose, but beautiful palate. Tartness is light, as is bitterness - a primo easy summer session brew. Kinda wish it came in cans, this strikes me as more of a crack-it-open after a lawn-mowin' brew (though a top-notch example of such) than a fancy-pants tulip glass one.

Canned 7/3/18.
Our store rec'd Friday, 9/7/18
?!?!?
Moderate pour yields a one inch white head over a slightly hazy straw colored body with scant lacing. Nose of citrus, tropical fruit, and a bit of hay. Very nice refreshing lemony flavor with a good feel. Overall, a real nice offering from Brooklyn, NY via Sterling, Va. Cheers!!!
