L - medium haze, head fades to lace

S - citrus pith, tropical fruit, and a kind of pilsner-like note

T - passion fruit and pineapple up front, subdued malt character, and a little more lingering bitterness than some other Grimm, not much of that "odd tropical" or guava thing I often get from ekuanot

F - typical Grimm DIPA, meaning medium minus carb and medium plus thickness

O - at first I was a little disappointed that it seemed "old school" and not a pure juice bomb, but after a few sips it really grew on me... I'm digging the overall balance and passion fruit character, plus it doesn't tire the palate like sweeter NEIPAs can

you know what i always like and need after midnight after a long day of drinking beer? a nice double ipa, thats what! this is a good one too, even if my can didnt present itself to me as maximally fresh, i still really dug the beer. the hops profile is decidedly new school, dry hoppy and southern hemisphere, even a lupulin powder or dust element to it, sort of concentrated. all kinds of fruitiness from honeydew melon to orange tic tac and pineapple, tangerine, and guava, almost sweet because its so fruity, which when i acknowledge mentally makes me taste confectioners sugar in the grain and even vanilla. its mostly dry hopped too, so there is nothing to really resolve the long spiral of sweet fruity hoppiness, and it stands as a little unbalanced as such, but its not a problem for me because i like the uniqueness of the collective hop profile. id love to know what all varietals have been used here. long finish, good carbonation, faint oxidation and fade, but this is still really good. ive encountered tons of fruity stuff from these guys lately, nice to find a hoppy one out there too! if i wasnt drunk before this, i sure was after it (but lets face it, i was definitely drunk before)!

These pastel, Easter stylie can is a great representation of the flavor profile of the beer. Not the brightest aroma I've witnessed, but an overall fantastic brew

Can from Whole Foods on the UWS, NYC.
Pours a hazy gold with a finger of fluffy white head and decent lacing, smell is candied hops with hints of musty floral spiciness, taste is cantaloupe rind and white wine grape must, a flash of sticky pine resin, finishes with a mild bitter citrus pith that lingers, medium/light bodied, a little thin. A citrusy white wine spritzer.
