Brandy Snifters
Look: Opaque orangey-pink color, pouring a 1 finger head. Dissipated to heavy lacing
Smell: Lightly tart nose, sweet cherries, slight funk, malt
Taste: Lightly tart, slight sweet cherry, a lot of musty yeast funk, bitter oak tannins, and bitter grapefruit
Feel: Light moderate body, moderate carbonation, crisp
Overall: Its alright, too much oak presence overtakes everything

23 February 2020 - Beer #35

Price: $19.99 at City Hops in Manhattan

Appearance: 4 - looks like the inside of an apricot. Beautiful and bright. Head fizzled away immediately. Looks completely flat.

Nose: 5 - pretty darn sour on the nose. I get more stonefruit than cherry. I like stonefruit.

Taste: 4 - sourest I've had from Grimm. Flavor is a bit fake, like a fruit roll-up. Very nice.

Mouth: 5 - most assuredly not flat. It's like the attack of the tiny bubbles. Impressive.

Overall: 4 - perhaps the best sour I've had from Grimm, and I've had many.

Cheers!

Had again at World of Beers in Canton for World of Sour Event 7/31/19. Earthy, funky, barnyard funk and horse blanket. Great!

A: The beer is slightly hazy pinkish red in color and has a moderate amount of carbonation. It poured til a quarter finger high white head that left a collar of medium-sized bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of cherries are present in the nose along with hints of oak.
T: The taste has flavors of oak and cherries along with a light amount of sourness.
M: It feels light-bodied and slightly tart on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and has some refreshing qualities as it isn't overly tart or sour. I liked the balance between the cherry and oaky flavors.

Tastes like somebody spilled a bucket of crushed cherries into a bubbly granite cascade on a sunny day with a slight Sweet Tart breeze. The color is beautiful. Clean flavor, excellent mineral undertones. I tried it on tap. I like it a lot.
