16oz can purchased from the fridge as a single for $4.99. Canned on 08/30/22, so this is just under three months old.

Look: Pours a moderately hazy golden yellowish orange color. The head was a bit rocky and didn't stick around long. A thin layer of off-white head remains.

Smell: It has pungent aromas of lemony and grapefruity citrus along with green bell pepper. There is both a juiciness and spiciness in the nose. Secondary notes of stone fruit (peach) and tropical fruit (guava). It smells inviting. After pouring more from remainder of the can, this got a bit chalky in the aroma but a lot of it also blew off. The aroma became more funky in a good way.

Taste: It tastes very similar to how it smells. Up front, the beer is bright and juicy, yet it finishes very dry which is nice because it definitely helps the drinkability. The finish is mildly to moderately bitter with pithy and herbal/spicy notes. After pouring more from remainder of the can, I think that the flavors became more integrated and complex.

Feel: It has prickly yet soft carbonation. The beer is light to medium bodied. I actually wouldn't mind if there was slightly more carbonation.

Overall: It's probably one of the better NEIPAs that I have had lately. It's very clean, which I appreciate, because NEIPAs have a tendency to get chalky. Especially since this beer is almost three months old, it has held up especially well. Even though it became a bit chalky after pouring the bottom half of the can, it was still enjoyable. I wish that the Nelson Sauvin would present more of a starring role, but I do think that the additions of Strata and El Dorado work very well here.

From the website:
Pouring with a dense, opaque hop haze, New Toy delivers generous notes of tropical fruit, strawberry, watermelon jolly ranchers, and orange juice.

16 oz. can dated 8/30/22

Hops: Nelson, Strata, El Dorado

I've been wanting to try their stuff for a few years now and lo and behold I found this at the grocery store, and just a few weeks old. This is a fantastic NE IPA. Exceptionally fruity and clean.

Canned 8/30/22.

L: Pours a hazy dark yellow with a creamy white head that sticks around the edge of the glass. Thin but pretty lacing.

S: Aromas of melon, strawberry and orange.

T: Tropical fruit up front, then the melon and strawberry. Finishes clean, with just a touch of dry bitterness.

F: Smooth medium mouthfeel and carbonation.

O: A solid, easy drinking NEIPA. Hits a nice spot between watery and boozy.
