Style: American Wild Ale

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.20%

Notes / Commercial Description:
Named after a lunar sea, this is a very tart and rich beer, complex in both malt presentation and sourness. Fruit and brandy-like aromas are apparent, while flavors of raspberry and grain play out in the finish.

Sampled at the Granite State Brewers Fest. Slightly hazy dark brown color. Lightly tart with some faint puckering. Still some sweet bready and caramel malt in there to balance the sour lemon and tart cherry. Pretty tasty.

I love wild ales and was excited to try this rendition, advertised as a Flemish-style sour brown:
- Lovely ruby/gold color
- Small head, champagne bubbles
- the wild/sour yeast taste fills the palate with joy
- crisp finish

This sour ranks with the best that I have had, and reminds me of some of the more delicious experiments of other local brewers. Cheers!

If you like to have your thirst quenched on a hot summers day, then Mare Nectars is a great choice. Poured into a tulip glass. nice brown color, slightly cloudy. This brown sour brought a balanced sour taste to the beer, with a tolerable ABV. I would recommend that everyone try this beer, but try it after a day of activity.
