On tap at Dominion wine & Beer. A must try dopplebock. I think it’s fantastic. May top rated dopplebock and I’ve been drinking Celebrator just in the last few days. A heavier mouthfeel that the classic, almost chewy. The taste has a deep roasty and caramel malt but not a stout flavor. Some sweetness but not the first thing that you would ever think of. A deep dark clear amber brown.

Canned 2021/04/23
Pours a tan frothy 1/2 finger head with med retention, a bit of lacing, semi hazy auburn ruby to chestnut color

Nose brings sweet toasted malts, biscuity toffee, bread crust, caramelized sugar, rich nutty malt, plenty of toasty caramelized characters, some dark fruits, little herbal hop

Taste brings more sweet malts, sweet nutty toffee with plenty more caramelized sugars but not too much straight caramel, little biscuity sweet bread crust and toasted reddish malt, some dark fruits and general fruity esters, light herbal hops with light bitterness, smooth alcohol, mild sticky sweet finish

Mouth is med to fuller bod, med frothy carb, almost no alcohol

Overall solid doppelbock, basically what I expected from them, well done

Snagged a 4-pack recently at The Beer Store in Nashua.... set me back $20.... Diving into one of the 16oz cans now out in The 'Zebo...

Poured into a Willi Becher, it's a deeply dark and dense chestnut color. Has a minimal head, even with a hard pour. What foam that is present is off-white and clinging to the rim, with very light lacing. The aroma is quite enticing, with loads of semisweet malts. Caramel, toffee, brown bread, molasses - all there. Body is solid, bordering on medium-plus, with a smooth passage over the tongue.

The flavor starts with the same attributes as the aroma, then builds on them. Caramel, toffee, brown bread, molasses? Check. Also has nutty characteristics ad well as subtle intimations of dark fruit. Has a pleasant earthy aspect in the finish. Solid!! Prosit!!

this one brings wonderful flavors of caramel, toffee, brown sugar, molasses, oak, woodsy hop character, wonderful roastyness and nutty character. complex dart fruit profile of plum, mellow candied cherry, hint of raisin, spice. dang! fairly low level of carbonation makes this one especially decadent and dessert like, definitely a sipper.
