This our “bench-mark” beer. A medium bodied ale with aromas of soft citrus and earthy pine combined with very subtle notes of tropical fruit. This highly hopped American style IPA leaves your pallet with a lingering dry and bitter finish.

12 oz can, 2-22-16 sticker on the plastic six pack holder (hopefully that is the canning date and not the best before date)

Pours typica Amber nice looking like khaki cap, leaving low sheeting and some ringed lacing.

Citric sniff with grapefruit rind wafting about

Respectable IPA with ample citrus and resinsy hop notes abounding.

More better then decent craft IPA from a slew of new to me at least Florida brewers...very happy to see the Florida beer scene improvements...things have hanged a lot in the past few years..

12oz can poured into a pint glass. The aroma and taste are both filled with citrusy hops and a moderate malt backbone. I appreciate the slight sweetness in the taste and the hops provide a nice lingering bitterness. The hops take on notes of grapefruit and pine.

Green Bench IPA has a thin-to-medium, white head, a hazy, orange-gold appearance, some lazy bubbly streams, and minimal lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of traditional hop oils, white bread, and underlying citrus. Taste is of sweet white bread, white bread crust, some pine, some mango, and some bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium and a touch oily, and Green Bench IPA finishes dry and refreshing, in fact.

12oz can from Sprayberry Bottle Shop (Marietta, GA). 2.39. No canning date but this was a recent delivery to the store. Served in a Barrel and Barley teku.

Pours a bright amber gold with a finger and a half of pale head. A consistent film remains and the fluffy halo imparts a few sparse flakes of lace.

Smells of fresh fallen sapling, grass, citrus and faint bread. Perhaps neither unique nor overly enticing but not bad.

Tastes of citrus peel, wet grass, earthy tea-like bitterness, root and a little bit of bready malt. A bit more sharply abrasive hop character than I typically prefer but still not bad.

Medium body, slightly slick with moderately strong carbonation. A mix of sap, peel, root and tea continue the bitter theme in the lingering finish.

Green Bench's flagship IPA is decent and serviceable but simply not my preference. If you enjoy hops from the piney and citrus zest camp this might be a brew to consider trying.
