Style: English Stout

Alcohol by volume (ABV): not listed

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
A traditional Irish Dry Stout, Stay Dry is a pun. In St. Petersburg it is difficult to “stay dry.” Our weather is either too hot and humid to avoid a constant sweat, or our tropical storms maintain a torrential downpour rolling in off the Gulf of Mexico. This beer is light in body, black in color, and packed with malt forward flavors reminiscent of chocolate, dark caramel, and coffee.

Not what I was expecting. On tap at the brewery. Typical stout color, but a much lighter taste. More porter than stout. Good beer for a very hot afternoon.

A very nice example of the style. Dark brown, auburn hues at the edges. Head is modest. Smell is intense roastiness, chicory, char, dark coffee. Flavor is light and dry, a walnut and bitter almond note in with the chocolate / coffee roasted barley. Smooth finish.
