Reviewed from notes. Poured from a 16.9 oz. bottle into a Firestone Walker tulip glass.

A: Pours a hazy rich brown, with average visible carbonation and a finger's worth of white head.

S: Sour acetic acid with wine and barrel woody dryness. Some bready rye malts, a bit of lemon and a touch of lactic acid.

T: Acetic sourness and acidic. Mildly vinous, toasted malts and bits of lemons and cherries floating around the mouth. Big oak tannin dryness near the swallow. Not overly sour though.

M: The body is borderline this, but has good carbonation sensation. Low alcohol presence.

O: Reasonably good, though not blowing me away. I'll be interested to see how this develops over time.

WONDERFUL! I really wasn't expecting much out of this but was blown away by the complexity and depth of flavors. Very Oud Bruin without some of the more acrylic sour profile flavors.

"For the Mad Ones is a sly Rye Brown soured with Lactobacillus and fermented 100% on wild yeast in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels for 8 months..."

L - Pours a deep brown, traces of light through it, with a light tan one finger head. The head dissipates to a ring around the glass and doesn't leave behind much lacing.

S - Not much rye on the nose. There is a bit of oak and a faint soured red wine characteristic. Really boring.

T - The Cabernet Sauvignon barrels and oak shine here. Slight green apple tartness midway through and carries to the end. The rye isn't present, but I can pickup pieces of it here and there.

F - Light bodied and high carbonation with a dry finish.

O - The smell isn't much to write home about, but the taste is oh so good. It's really pleasant and doesn't overwhelm the palette.
