Presentation: 0,5l brown glass bottle sealed with a white and blue logo’d crown cap. Tri-label set-up so common amongst the Teutonic brews. The main label has blue & white checks down the sides of a white background with some; the wording describes the brew as “Will-Bräu Original Bayerisch Hefe Weizen”. The reverse label lists the strength at 5.3%. No freshness date.

Appearance: Milky yellow body sits nicely underneath the large white foamy head that slowly collapses from a rough surfaced lunar landscape to finish as a clean looking ½” thick uniform cap. Minimal lacing with some nice finely dissolved conditioning.

Nose: Cloves with a virulent thread of freshly peeled bananas and some wheat. Possible hints of yeasty white bread dough. Lovely nose, just right.

Taste: Very much along the lines of the nose, it really lets you know exactly what to expect ahead of time. Wheaty finish with slivers of cloves running through the doughy ending,

Mouthfeel: The supporting conditioning rises in the middle which helps expose the ripened bananas.

Drinkability: An easy going Hefe that is not the biggest out there but it is certainly an accomplished libation that I would try again, especially if I saw it on draft.

Overall: Not that bad I thought. Tasty enough without being over the top.

Dark amber color. Medium head. Aroma is malty and bready. Nice roasted malts, bananas and cloves. Hops are slightly spicy. Well balanced. Slightly sweet and a touch bready. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
