This pours a golden yellow in color.

There’s a freshness to the aroma that can’t be beat. I get some crisp piney notes and an underlying orange character. The flavor has a peppery snap—perhaps there’s some rye in the mash bill?—with this drying finish. I enjoyed it. Wouldn’t mind another.

Watch out for this place! its doing big things and these people know their beer! especially when it comes to hops. this Hop Slangin' is the single Ipa and it is easily one of the best IPAs i have had. the nose is very dank and Piney, it has a fresh cut grass scent as well.

The taste of this beer is excellent, starts of with a rush of grapefruit and blood oranges, the citrus really hangs on and has a very sappy feel to it, the malt character is big and bready and kind of holds everything together for a nice long taste. the taste is very complex and invites another, the hopping is just top notch, its very drinkable and so crisp and refreshing.

I absolutely loved this brewery in San Francisco, with all the heady spots in the city this was our favorite from our recent week stay in the bay.

I'm giving Cellarmaker's original IPA a proper review having had every iteration of Hop Slangin. Pours a clear pale yellow with white head. Nose is much more Nelson heavy than previous versions. Lots of white grapes, diesel, and stone fruit. Taste is also more Nelson heavy than I remember. The rye is restrained. Overall this batch is quite good (01/2016), however I remember being more impressed with last years batch (brewed for SFBW 2015).

I'll preface by stating that I enjoy Rye IPA's. This one isn't as spicy as Ruthless Rye or Hop Rod Rye, but the rye spice is there in perfect balance. The nose on this beer is amazing. Deep citrus, dank pine, and hearty malt. Taste follows nose. Touch of spice from rye. Citrus hop flavors round out the flavor profile. It is a very well made beer.
