Dobis is our 100% Citra hopped pale ale that starts with lots of Scottish Golden Promise malt to create a graham cracker base. Then Citra brings forth lots of pineapple, mandarin, citrus, and mango. We love Citra, it is super juicy and flavorful. This is the first beer in a long line of brews that we make hopped only with it. Cheers to the OG Dobis!

Very hazy but translucent, pale yellow, basically straw in color. Capped with a foamy white head with great retention.

Nice popping fruity aroma, huge honeydew melon, white grape, pineapple, some lemon and unripe mango.

Tastes follows as honeydew melon, white grape, tart pineapple, lemon, grass, and clean, white crackery/raw doughy malt. Perhaps a touch of nutty oat. Clean finish, no real bitterness at all but the lemon peel/pineapple scrubs clean the palate.

Somewhat hefty body, moderately carbonated, smooth and silky but still easy to drink.

Excellent New England style pale ale! I'd happily buy/drink this again.

On tap at Cellarmaker House of Pizza

A: Pours hazy golden amber with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and laces beautifully.

S: Bright mix of tropical, stone fruit, and citrus, grassy, slightly resinous, a bit floral, crackery biscuity malt, and a little caramel sweetness.

T: Bright, tropical and stone fruit, pineapple, mango, apricot, and peach, lemon, lime, and tangerine, grassy, floral, a bit resinous, faintly herbal, crackery biscuity malt, and a touch of caramel sweetness.

M: Light to medium body, moderately lovely carbonation.

O: One of the OG Cellarmaker beers. Super crisp and crushable, and distinctly different from other Citra beers. Love it!

Sometimes I swear I've written a review only to find out no such thing has been recorded. Probably confusion variants like the dipa and festival tastings. Shoulder shrug.

Poured the one in my pic out at Pitt Dam. Its a pretty hazy pale ale. Coming in close to looking like orange juice with a 1/2" frothy white head. The aroma seems to be all Galaxy hops, guessing the pineapple imagery and smell = Galaxy but you never know even if they tell you.

Taste brings along the pineapple alongside some other citrusy notes. Virtually nothing in the department of yeast or malt has a taste impact on the beer. Mouth feel, sure, especially what seems like a flaked body to drop the bitterness even lower. But its not watery nor trubby. Its weird in that it has a viscosity that would seem to be a heavier malt bill, but then it has like, almost zero contribution weight wise to the perceived heft of the beer, perhaps its just soakin up bittering hops and being all zero calorie like and shit.

Can from lupulo Santa Cruz.
Miraculously only 2 days old from canning date. I’m spoiled.
Looks like a hazy ipa.
Definitely tropical fruit and/or pineapples present in smell and flavor.
Plenty thick for a pale ale.
Overall: could recommend to pretty much anybody.

A big thanks to Jay for this.

Just a brilliant and clean pale ale with bright citrus and tropical notes bursting in aroma and flavor, and just the right amount of bitterness. An awesome thirst quencher and another great offering from Cellarmaker. Cheers
