Served in a pint glass at Ale Arsenal.

Hazy yellow, but barely translucent. Very little head.

Nose is interesting and incredibly pleasant. Tropical fruit. Bitter hops. Hint of onion. Fresh and engaging.

Tasty! Very hoppy. Herbal, spicy, and a little grassy. Fruit comes in on the aftertaste, along with a not entirely pleasant tang reminiscent of cheap 'beeriness'. The bitterness lingers with a mineral character.

Mouthfeel is surprisingly and bracingly robust for a pale ale. Full-bodied.

Overall, an interesting, drinkable, fresh hoppy bitter beer. Recommended and intriguing. I can see J-17 having a long and twisting brewing road ahead of it.
