Notes:
We aged our Imperial Stout for 13 months in 3 Breckenridge Rye Whiskey Barrels and 1 Eagle Rare 10yr Barrel and blended the 4 barrels. The resulting beer is very viscous, chewy and bourbon forward with notes of coconut, vanilla and spice.

2020 bottling (released on 9/11/20, so presumably bottled within a few days of that date); consumed on 10/2/21
Pours a viscous, oily, jet-black hue capped with a barely-forming driver of spotty, dark khaki foam inconsistently covering the surface, fading quickly to a glossy void, moderate, creamy collar, and minimal-no lacing holding to the walls of the glass.
Aroma opens with nuances tones of charry roast paired with bittersweet burnt coffee, easing into a punchy bourbon into lush vanilla over the middle; ripe, bourbon-soaked oak offers a woody dryness to the composition, enlivened again with sweet dark chocolate chips on the close.
Taste brings silky vanilla into charry brownie batter upfront, evened with splintery oak barrel while maintaining chocolate chip details; a hint of cherry finds darker chocolate over the mid-palate as hints of nutty roast and burnt caramel peak with a tenuously brilliant semi-sweetness meandering across the profile.
Mouthfeel shows a medium-full body with minimal carbonation, with a creamy texture holding a slickness over mid-palate; tinges of booziness spark a slight grit with a soft warmth and mild stickiness on the back end; comprehensively smooth and effortless for a near-14% sipper.
Deeper roast brings about a more evocative, chocolatey malt richness as dried barrel engages an earthy, bourbon-tinged subtext that flows unencumbered alongside the pointed, bittersweet base.

Very dark appearance with slight dark brown head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is a very pleasant bourbon and malt. Taste is a slightly sweet very smooth blend of bourbon and malt.

Sweet, chocolate fudge, and whiff of boozy nose on this one! Taste follows with a smooth chocolate finish...a tad thin. Where is the 13% ABV?! Really good!

Tap at the brewery
Extremely Small fizzy dark head, pitch black thick beer.
Nose is awesome, loads of chocolate, bourbon, vanilla barrel, roasted malt, fudge caramel, nougat marshmallow candy, dark chocolate candy bar and sweet bourbon juice, a little coconut barrel, reminds me of one of the famous great barrel aged imp stouts but can't remember which, maybe black Tuesday?
Taste more of the same, tons of bourbon barrel juice, like bourbon juice, vanilla barrel, toasted coconut and baking spices from the barrel, loads of dark chocolate cocoa, fudge, little color dough, some alcohol flavor, candy bar toffee caramel nougat, little roast and char. Finishes a bit sticky, little more tingly alcohol, lingering bourbon cocoa and barrel notes. So much bourbon juice, I would have given this a 4.75 if the alcohol flavor and tingle wasn't so strong.
Mouth is fuller bod, thick rich creamy chewy, decent carb, tingly alcohol
Overall a really good beer, great base beer, great barrel characters, just a bit hot on the alcohol

From tap a Toro SD, into a small goblet.
Molasses/coffee aromas with maple-y, vanilla flavors, beer is dangerously balanced and drinkable. Reminding me of the Bourbon County line, with a little more of an earthy bend. Closes with a relatively dry, dark chocolate finish.
Outstanding brew, drink up if you can find it.

The absolute best beer I've ever had. If it were more consistently available, I'd live at the brewery.
