One of my favorite beers. One of the first in line when it comes out every year. Dangerously smooth. Almost a bit of spice on the front end. Chocolatey finish. In my opinion, the best thing Three Notch’d puts out regularly

Marmite beer, i.e., you'll either love it or hate it. I am the latter. This reminded me of Yoo-Hoo chocolate drink. Quite beautiful to look at, though.

Rich and beautiful, definitely a dessert beer. I'm glad I gave it a swish but way too sweet for my liking.

22 oz. bottle poured into a snifter.

It looks very deep brown with caramel brown edges along the glass. The tan head head is thick and foamy but settles down quick to just a ring with some slick lacing and a bit of swirling film on top. The head raises easily with a swish of the glass and leaves some thin brown coating on the glass.

The nose is strong and spicy, actually coming across as graham cracker. Along with a vanilla ice cream like note and a small underlying whiff of chocolate there is a pretty good likeness to s'mores. The taste closely resembles the nose and is dominated by the spicy character which builds to a tang at the finish. A little bit of alcohol taste but I don't get any bourbon flavor. Mouth feel is a little chalky with a medium body and is a little thinner than I'd like.

The spice was a bit much for me and it accumulated as I drank. Though all in all, still a nice treat.

I really loved the Bourbon Barrel Biggie and gave it huge marks, so this one is a big let down for me. Nose has hints of graham and marshmallow, but the taste doesn't deliver. There is some graham cracker, but the taste really reminds me more of flat cola. Some small hints of chocolate. Not getting any of he marshmallow or creme that was in the BB. Mouth feel too thin. This isn't a train wreck, but not much more than just ok. Was on the fence and a couple of my numbers could have been lower, but hey, its Friday.

Poured from the bottle into a large snifter glass.

Pretty straightforward looking stout, dark walnut brown near to black, actually slightly red almost dark copper hued. Very nice tan creamy one finger head that dissolves to leave a nice creamy collar as well. Very nice looking brew.

Interesting aroma. Whoppers malted candy quality and lost of graham crackers come off on the nose. Milky sensing and mushy crackers in the mix, but a somewhat closed malts presence. Not much hints of chocolate or even roast, but a one note that is actually quite impressive and inviting at least.

Palate provides a bit more diversity. Light bodied hints of char and roast on first sip, with more carbon and char roast like flavors and action in the aftertaste. Quite an interesting sweetness too this, tastes like honey quite a bit as opposed to lactose and milky cream character. Honey and graham cracker with a noticeable roast mix in the mid palate mostly.

Is this a milker? Somewhere in between? I like the graham cracker on this quite a bit, but many of the other flavors hinted at just don't show up (chocolate, marshmallow, cream/vanilla). Fun beer, but I think this has the potential to be considerably better.

Pours a solid black with about two fingers of light tan head that takes a while to dissipate. Strong smells of graham cracker, sugar, and vanilla. Tastes of malt, cream, vanilla, marshmallow, and a little booze. Medium- heavy body. Pretty interesting beer and they pull it off nicely.
