Pours amber with thin tan head. Aroma is nutty with muted caramel notes. Flavor is better, with nice malty bread making a presence. some alcohol and phenols showing. Finish is fairly dry, with slight metallic linger. Okay stuff.

22oz. bottle

Pours burnt orange amber with a dense creamy off-white foam head. Smells like rich malty caramel, molasses, nutty grain, toasted bread, dried apricot, raisin, fig, brown sugar, toffee, roasted malt, spice, with earthy herbal grassy pine. Tastes like malty caramel, molasses, toffee, roasted malts, nutty grain, brown sugar, spice, some booze, dark toasted bread, mild dried fruit, with earthy herbal grass and pine. Feels medium-light bodied, creamy and slick with moderate low carbonation. Overall a real nice dark tasting Oktoberfestbier.

Best by 03/16 I believe, a bit of an old bottle (last year's).

A: Dark red pour with a small tan head. Head fades pretty quickly. No lacing.

S: Lots of sweet caramel and a bit of toast. A light hit of herbal hops.

T: Oh yeah. Nice sweet caramel and toffee up front. Hints of toasted malt with light grassy and herbal hops. Very light though, this one is almost pure malt.

M: Medium bodied, soft and easy drinking.

O: Pretty much exactly what an Oktoberfest should be. Super drinkable with great mild malt flavors and just a touch of hoppiness. Sweet but not cloying. Very nice.

Bottle at America on Tap
Slightly hazy deep golden color. Aromas of sweet bready malt and plenty of diacytyl. A bit too sweet and the butterscotch doesn't do this style any favors.

Poured from a 22oz bomber into a can glass:

Pours a dark amber-red body, with a frothy white head, that holds for a solid period of time. Leaves trace lacing only. Aroma is sweet, caramelly malt. Some toffee as well. The taste is closely aligned with the smell, with lots of sweetness and malt, and a bready backbone. Really solid representation of the marzen style, and quite yummy. Feel is medium-heavy with a lengthy, sticky finish that keeps the flavor rollin'. One of the better Oktoberfests out there, undoubtedly.
