A pint served at Grendel's Den in Cambridge, MA. Ruddy brown in color, maybe a bit of copper thrown in there. Deep malty flavor, mild fruitiness. No head. The Oktoberfest to beat this fall, IMHO.

A - Amber/bronze body with a small white head. Leaves little lacing.
S - Malt is upfront a center. Caramel, toffee, sweet malt.
T - More balanced than the nose led me to believe. Sweetness of the malt is still the major player, which should be expected for the style. Hops bitterness and maybe a little spice cut it off. Far back after taste is a little spice like rye bread.
M - Thick body, low carb. Feels like an ale rather than a lager. Would expect it to be a little cleaner.
O - A solid Marzen/Oktoberfest. A good contrast to say Sam Adams Octoberfest. It is a little higher in ABV. This year's bottle read 7.5%, so given that, the alcohol is well hidden. Much different than I remember last year, but I would say an improvement.

2014 22 oz bomber into pint glass.

Off white/tan head quickly dissipated with large bubbles.

Aroma is roasted malt, slight sweetness

Initial taste is sweet that transitions into a little bit of a sharpness from the carbonation
Follow up taste is of Carmel and viennA/Munich malt. Slight fruit from the yeast

Good mouthfeel and carbonation, not a bad octoberfest, I would put it in my top 5 picks

Very good Octoberfest, not overly spiced. Nice 1" tan head when served in a pint glass. Head lasted for most of the beer. Good body and Outstanding mouth feel. Another excellent beer by BBC
