Look forward to this one from BBC every year. My old matly friend! Buy it often to drink @ home and get it often on tap when I see it (becoming more visible - a good sign).
Pours a deep brown/copper with a nice head. Smells really malty/caramelly...yum.
Flavor hits the tongue right away - sweet malty buttery (in a good way) with some slight spices on the back end. Yes, there are some hops and this beer and they manage to clean up the malt circus at the end of the sip.
Like this beer alot. Glad it is reasonably priced and widely available around town for a long time each year.

Poured a very ruddy, cider like color with a decent head and decent lacing.
Smells extremely floral, hops, sweet malts, bubble gum, slightly fruity...
Taste is of grain, maltiness, very spicy hops, ending semi dry, some nuttiness, slightly fruity. smooth and tasty.
mouthfeel is medium bodied with litle carbonation.
Very drinkable.

Presentation: 22 oz brown bomber with a freshness date on the side of the label.
Appearance: Light on the lacing and head but sufficient for while the beer is in the glass. The amberish brown hue show a great clarity.
Smell: Hard raking of hop leaf on the nostrils, earthy and complex. Mild sugary caramel like malt in the back.
Taste & Mouthfeel: Full bodied with a slightly viscous rolling carbonation in the mouth. Lots of layered malt flavors push against a thick wall of hop flavor, the bitterness is more subdued but balances perfectly. Some nutty yeast and a kiss of ale like fruitiness in the mix. Earthy and faint piney flavors from the hops meld well with the sugary, almost nougat maltiness. Finishes with a long lived crispness and fresh lingering hops.
Drinkability & Notes: One of my favorite brews from Berkshire, very fresh with little nooks of complexities everywhere.

Crystal clear copper colored with a tightly bubbled, very thick beige-orange head that leaves a quarter inch of foam suspended. Aroma is sweet malt and spice, a bit of hops, and sweet fruit. Flavor delivers an upfront puckery bitter, nice and hoppy with citrus but not over the top, followed closely behind by sweet malt and cinnamon, some ripe pear. Mouthfeel is full, but fairly tingly with carbonation. Oily webs of lace run down the inside of the glass. Very tasty, very drinkable.

Poured from a 22 oz bottle into a Imperial pint glass
A- golden dark amber with a huge head. Head was white, frothy and lasted forever what a great looking beer.
S- balanced hops not to strong but enough to get some nose. Not overpowering, subtle foral hops. This beer smells good.
T- smooth with just the right amount of hops with a slight bitterness/ dryness in the finish
M- a bit thinner than I antisipated, but about on par with others in this style
D- an easy drinker with a subtle complexity, will I be having this again? yes
Notes: BA member acarroll413 and I shared this 22 oz bottle, but as you can read from his review everyone's tastes are different. This was a good purchase, I liked this beer.

Honestly, I really dont know what to make of this ale. There was nothing really negative about it yet I have a hard time coming up with some positives.
The pour, the smell, the mouthful were ok, but what I did not like was the aftertaste. I always like a beer (or wine) that starts off and finishes the same way. To me, the drink ability was
not what I would hope for

22 oz. bomber with no style stated on the label.
This has a mulit-hued effect with a base color of light brown with amber and red hues. The head is about 1" high, tan colored, quick to dissipate, not exactly as heady looking as I would hope to get me through this kind of winter.
The nose is mostly fruity, with the majority being pineapple. slight Cedar wood smoke, sweet malt, deep red fruits, strawberry, watermellon and mostly pineapple. The malt smells a bit thin, dominated by fruits.
This has a rather thin, water malt body, certainly not complex and malty enough for a winter Warmer, or any other winter season brew. The malt is quickly taked over by the bland, pineapple flavored hops with some slight starfruit in the back ground. a dry, crisp middle body seems to fade fast with a woody, pencil shavings edge that seems really strange. The flavor's simply don't work toagether at all.
A beer made for winter? "cabin fever"...seems like it should be a decent malt bomb with a warming effect, I can't even detect any alcohol in the flavor, not bite, no warming. Oh well.

Pours a clear dark amber rust color with a smallish head. The head does leave good lacing on this beer. The smell is abit light with sweet malt, bread yeast, and some pine hops. The taste has sweet malt, carmel, light hops, and some chewy nuttiness. The m/f is light with all flavors mixing well. A very good winter warmer without alot of the holiday spices that overwhelm other winter warmers.

Poured into a Samuel Smith Pint Glass this beer yielded a dirty copper color with a cloudy body.
A pleasant aroma but at the same time not to much there. Very subtle.
A malt character is up front with a hint of hops near the finish as well as a typical winter warmer spice, Cardamom?
A great body, very full with good carbonation.
Not spiced very much for a winter warmer which for me is a plus. This is a good beer that I will visit again next year.

another one from ppotrias, cheers pete!
Pours an effervescent caramel with 2+ fingers of sand colored head. Good lacing & head retention
S: Caramel & breadyness fades quickly
T: Dryness, caramel, some citrussy & leafy hops up front. Fruityness (apricot, peach & figs), herbal &leafy hops as this warms. Finishes warming, fruitty & with a bit of caramel
MF: Light/medium bodied, moderate carbonation & nice balance to this
Drinks pretty easy, hides the abv fairly well. An English-slanted winter warmer that has some warmth to it as it opens up
