Whoa, hold the horses, we have a beer of a different color! This one comes in amber, thin off white head, which means it is one of the 2% of beers from Rare Barrel that isn't the dark or golden sour base!
Lactic sour and tart aroma as usual, real clean. Taste is more of the same. Dry oak tannins in the mouth feel and aftertaste. Lemons as usual is the first fruit descriptor in terms of the taste. Mild hints of caramel. More acidity than that. Some apples and cranberry like notes as well. Another good but not great beer from Rare Barrel. Price point makes it a pass on a to go bottle.

On tap at CBC 2016. Ruby with a white head. Hazy. Sour fruit, cherries, graps, oak and vanilla. Quite good.

Very clear amber colored body, tiny white head that dissipates almost instantly. Light aroma, a tinge of lactic acid with underlying oakiness. Not as mouth puckering as most Rare Barrel offerings, which is nice. Some sweet cherry up front that turns to bright lemony acidity. Smooth body. A nice session sour!

Another split with rudzud.
Pours a mild creamy foamy head, fades semi nice lacing, quickly to big bubbles, crystal clear tan iced tea color.
Nose tart generic fruit notes, sour malts, some reddish candy soured malts, tangy with touch of acetic acid, very generic sour brown.
Taste starts with acetic acid, sour malts, tart flemmy generic sour fruit, soured reddish malts with little candy note, so much acid bite, little berry seed tannin. Finish is very flemmy, big acidic, soured fruit and tart berry seed.
Mouth is med bod, sour flemmy, decent carb, big acid.
Overall it's good, but very generic and average for a good American sour. Yeah a few years earlier this beer would have been great, but these days it gets lost in all the other great American sours out there, and way too acidic and flemmy.

Split with JLindros.
A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a crystal clear golden rose hue with a head that fades to leave a light wispy blanket.
S - Aromas are super generic musty. Clearly a sour, but, nothing really pops or is notable.
T - Taste is nicely sour, cherries dance in the background. Lightly fruity, cherries are a mix between syrup and fresh fruit. Good vinegar notes, light barrel, little flemmy. Good base beer background.
M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, flemmy.
O - Overall this beer was typical of rare barrel...promise but at the end of the day a run of the mill American sour.
