Bottle into snifter.

A: Pours a ruby tinted caramel brown with a thin fluffy head that quickly faded to a lasting collar.
S: The nose is full of sour cherry and rich black cherry. This smells just like dark cherries in syrup used for cocktails and desserts. Smells like fresh preserves or jam.
T: Juicy and dark cherry notes are rich and thick. Dark base adds hints of caramel and leather. Hints of tannic cherry skins and pits in the finish. Slight honey-like sweetness as well. Clean tartness is acidic but mellow. Not as plain and bright of a tartness as their other beers, more depth.
M: One of their fuller bodied beers with a thicker and chewier mouthfeel. Soft carb isn't as spritzy and bright as many of their others.
O: This is one of the first bottles I've had from them with a bit of age on it so that may have something to do with it, but I thought this was more complex and richer than many of their other brews, at least ones that came out around the same time period or before. Great balance of rich semisweet cherry juice and dry, tannic and spicy flavors. Not bone dry, nice sugary finish. One of my favorites from them and one of the better cherry beers I've ever had.

The acidity is too strong on the after taste.

Split with rudzud, duffy, kyle.

Attempts a head then fades quickly, dark murky mahogany brown color cherry red hue.

Nose is all cherry, sour cherry, little acidic tart sour funk, tart sour brown notes, little cereal grain and holiday brown spice.

Taste brings tart cherries, brown malts and dark dried brown fruits, weird holiday spice again, tart sour brown malts, flemmy funk, little cereal grain, very tart and lots of cherry. Finish is flemmy, tart cherry and sour brown malt.

Mouth is med to heavier bod, light carb.

Overall nice, not a huge fan of cherry but works well here, needs more carb.

Split with JLindros, Duffy, and Kyle.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice darker cherry juice hue with almost no head. Leaves no wisps either.

S - Aromas of light chocolate, sour funk cherries, earthy, cereal grains, odd spice notes, musty.

T - Taste is quite a bit of sour cherry, light almost baking spice notes, good juicy cherry not cloy at all with really light oak barrel. Really tasty.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, low carb, nice body.

O - Overall this beer was nice, tasty, again needs more carb though.
