Canned on 4/13/16.

Picked this up at the bottle shop on my block because it was 16 oz. reasonably priced, in cans and fairly fresh. I couldn't care less whether it is brewed in Maspeth, or Pottstown, or Round O SC.

Looks: Clear golden with persistent quarter inch head, lacing covering the sides of the pint glass.
Aroma: Pineapple, pear, orangish
Taste: Taste more resins than citrus. Nicely balanced with the malts. Plenty of flavor considering the ABV. Hits the target as a session beer.
Mouthfeel: Substantial for a 4.5 ABV, 16 oz goes down quick.

Overall, a pleasant surprise, just what I was looking for to take to the lake this weekend.

A solid Session IPA. I picked this up at Grape and Gourmet in Virginia Beach, the first Queens beer I have seen in Virginia. Big hoppy flavor but a bit thin on the mouthfeel. At this low abv, it packs a considerable taste punch and is well worth consideration as a session beer. Pours a hazy apple cider gold color with a small white frothy head and several incomplete frothy rings on the glass. Head retention is good. Some piney and floral hops aroma. Flavor is good for a session IPA. Mosaic hops give you piney, floral and citrus elements. This is a good hoppy flavor. Mouthfeel is crisp and a little thin. Overall a very worthwhile session IPA.

Poured a light, yellow body with two-finger head and lace ring down the glass. Aroma is slightly floral but more citric, soapy and bitter. Clean and light bodied beer that is slightly acidic and juicy with a citric bite and finishes bitter/dry with bits of floral notes. Not a bad, easy drinking hopped up IPA that is sessionable.

Served in a half-litre stein at the brewery. From notes. Reviewed 13 May 2018.

Hazy with good head and lacing. Smells only vaguely hoppy and tastes kinda murky and earthy. Nice citric bite on the end. A mediocre IPA, but decent session.

On the bottom of the can: "Canned on 04/13/2016 12789 10:43"

Appearance: The body is pretty hazy and I can see a lot of suspended sediment in the glass. The body is a medium gold color and the head is pure white. The head has a fluffy cloudy appearance and it is about as thick as my thumb. Good retention and lacing.

Aroma: It has a pretty strong catty aroma and a bit of garlic and onions.

Taste: It tastes a lot like it smells with a savory flavor of garlic and some grain husk character. A bit of a minty finish. It does have this vegetal flavor that build sup the more I drink it.

Mouthfeel: It has quite a lot of bitterness. The body is medium and it finishes with a bit of texture. Despite it being a session IPA it is not a fast-drinking beer.

Overall: It's an interesting beer. I think that overall you get more of a hop "bang for your buck" in this session IPA than you do in a lot of others because it does taste heavily hopped. I think the combination of hops and grains give it an odd character that doesn't quite coalesce into a solid beer but for what it is worth it is still a pretty good beer. I probably wouldn't buy it again but it's one of those "on the fence" beers that I wouldn't recommend for or against.

L - copper color, not much haze, absolutely enormous head settles to something reasonable

S - too much (crystal?) malt for my preferences, enticing tropical and citrus aromas, hint of new car smell

T - again a little malty for me, nice balance of sweet and bitter, some nice citrus flavors

F - pretty strong carbonation, and creamy for a session ale

O - reminds me of Alpine Hoppy Birthday
