Very Good
Orbiter IPAOrbiter IPA
Notes: Orbiter IPA unites a constellation of “C” hops (Cascade, Centennial, Chinook and Columbus) to create a formidable IPA. Bright and citrusy hop flavors shine in a medium body with caramel malt character. Dry hopped to amplify the hop aroma and flavor

22 oz. bottle:

Pours hazed copper with a lasting foamy head that leaves trailing lace.

The smell is of citrus/pine - a classic American IPA nose.

The taste is of caramel sweetness turning to citric, piney, floral/herbal bitterness. Grapefruit-like and slight aspirin-like bitterness in the finish,

Pretty chewy medium body. Smooth, with alcohol well-integrated.

A solid, enjoyable, basic American IPA. Hop-forward with caramel sweetness in the back until the bitter/dry finish.

On tap at the brewery the other day.

The beer pours a peach orange color with pretty good head retention and decent lacing. The aroma is quite floral I thought, as was the best part about this beer. Otherwise, there's considerable orange citrus and light white pepper in the nose. The flavor profile replicated the nose pretty closely in this fairly dry IPA. There's some light tropical fruit and orange citrus as well, and the beer has good bitterness on the finish. Mouthfeel is fairly light for the abv.

For some reason, the more I went along, the less I liked this beer. Initially, I thought it was a pretty nice IPA, but it became more and more of chore to drink as I went along, as there just wasn't enough there to keep my interest. Probably don't need to revisit this any time soon.

Look: It pours dark golden with a full white head.

Smell: It has aromas of citrus, caramel and a bit of pine.

Taste: There are tastes of caramel malts, citrus, and apricot. The initial flavors are sweet.

Feel: There is a medium high hop bitterness and the bitterness lingers a bit on the palate.

Overall this is a hop driven brew with a medium malt backbone.

Bottled 1/27/16

Sweet malty entry, caramel, slightly bready, with an orange flare near the finish.
Hops are candy like, mildly bitter, with pine and resin in the finish. Overall, the hoppiness is very palatable, very pleasing.
Thicker, more viscous mouthfeel/body for an IPA. Drinkability is great. I think this is a really good IPA. I love the Pac NW IPA's. Balanced. Well crafted. This is just that. I could see myself pounding pints of this at their pub/tasting room

I evaluated this beer as if fresh, but realize that a bottle date 1/27/16 is a little long on the shelf for a style that demands freshness. A friend passed this along to me. Glad he did. I'll be looking to score a fresh bottle or bottles of this. Nice job on this one.

22 oz. Bomber
Bottled On: 01/27/16

Pours a pretty nice clean/clear dark golden orange color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger off-white head, which leaves some nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, some malts, citrusy, some pineyness. The taste is hoppy, slightly malty, nice citrus, and some pines. Medium body, ABV hidden pretty well, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a pretty nice IPA. My first from this brewery.

L: A deep rustic cooper.
S: A great citrus smell but doesn't have any exciting notes.
T: It's a great taste but doesn't have an ass it, so is it even good?
F: Low carbonation with a thick syrupy finish
O: It's like a drunk sorority girl you pick up from the bars... a soft 2.75

Nice amber color, good head, nice looking beer. Aroma is biscuit, honey, faint orange marmalade. Flavor is a decent amount of hops, bitter finish, enough malt to not make it watery. The only I thing I don;t like was this faint note of plastic. Overall a decent IPA and fairly priced at $4.99.

22 oz bottle. Pours clear copper orange with a huge creamy off white head that retains well and leaves some lacing.

The aroma is earthy malts with minty piney hops and a little fruit.

The flavor is biscuity malt with a little fruit and a lot of grassy, tarry, slightly piney hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, not really digging the malt and hop profile.

22oz bottle poured into a large mug. Some of it stayed in the bottle, so most of the sediment should still be in there. If there's a date, I don't see it.

Pours a pretty translucent golden amber with a huge head that collapses slowly and leaves a lot of lacing. Smell is a little piney, fairly mild, just a hint of tropical juice.

Taste is promising, but a not very neat. Some good flowery bitter elements, but dominated by a vague pine. Some good malty elements (lots of nice caramel), but a strong old straw flavor.

Mouthfeel is dry and medium. Overall, almost a really good beer.

22 oz bottle purchased at Lifesource Natural Grocers in Salem OR $4.99 Pours a clear burnt orange colour with a larger than normal ( for style) dirty white head. Real strong piney and floral hoppiness..malts dont have a chance. Taste is a little more balanced with some real chewy caramel type PNW malt but the emphasis is still on the juicy free flowing hops..really nice taste to this. Despite all this hop carnage the mouth feel is free and easy. Very nice IPA from Ecliptic.

Attractive orangey amber with abundant foam in the Kasteel chalice.

A flowery and piney bit of hops with moderate bitterness. Some sweet malt.
Delicious sudsy mouthfeel and a refreshing tang. Orange peel with a sweet note. A nice balance among aromatics, malt, and bitterness.

Thoroughly quaffable; it doesn't seem as strong to taste as it does after a few gulps. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Bottleworks in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle.
