Taster at brewery. Kind of subdued, malty hoppy mix. Medium golden, oily and slick. Nothing really stands out here. Could almost passed for a pale except for the ABV.

Look: Orange in color and decently murky in the glass with a fast-growing head that pillows up and holds well before receding and leaving sticky lacing behind
Aroma: Cara cara oranges, grapefruit, pine, passionfruit, strawberries, sweet rose, blueberries, sweet malt, and Fruit Loops cereal
Taste: Tropical and citrus fruit team up for the first punch and almost immediately following that, a huge wave of pine crashes in. Some berry notes pop up here and there and bready malt is present throughout before closing with resinous conifer notes and a big hop bite
Mouthfeel: Full, a little slick, medium-high carbonation, and a medium strength dryness on the finish
Overall: This stuff is fantastic. I love these folks’ portfolio and this one is a staple in the beer fridge rotation year-round and it’s easy to taste why while also slowing down to review it. A well-made WCIPA – almost DIPA ABV territory – with great pine, citrus, tropical fruit, and floral notes, a great body, and good bitterness and dryness. Recommended

Very prickly. Get it as a taster just to experience what a bright IPA tastes like. But this would be a lot even in a tulip. Better to save room for something better.

This is a great IPA with minimal gut heaviness.
The pour is more watery than thick and the head populates a beautiful white foam.
Initial smells brought thoughts of pineapple and citrus.
As you drink the initial flavor hits with a bang of citrus pineapple (as the smell suggests) but with a wonderful mosaic hop finish with enough bite to give you a taste of the NW but a balance that leaves you wanting more.
The " weight" of tge beer on the stomach is minimal, the yeasts are all but spent and its not as thick as other heavier malted IPAs.
Bottom line, this is a delicious beer with a fantastic pineapple citrus but comes through with some wonderful hops. Not too heavy at all and the carbonation leaves you satisfied but not bloated.
I will buy this beer again and I highly recommend it if you love a great Pacific NW IPA buy this.

Drank out of a snifter glass from a can dated 9/21/2020. Has a smidgen of haze to the look, smells of dank hops and sweet fruit, tastes bitterly hoppy which I enjoy, backed by a strong fruit sweetness to even the flavor, and feels incredibly smooth on the tongue. Amazingly easy to crush these. Love it!

I really enjoyed this as it has strong floral notes, and a decent flavor profile despite not being very juicy or citrusy. Instead it's very floral and bright with a focus on classic west coast bitter hops. A great summer IPA. Also is a nice touch at 7.8 ABV.

12 Oz can. Packaged on 5/20/2020 (23 days old)
Pours a slightly hazy straw colored body with a bone white head. A couple of rings of lacing. Decent retention.
Very prominent scent at the pour. Centennial and Mosaic hops lead. I'm getting impressions of pineapple, and mango . A tiny amount of brown sugar malt sweetness noted.
Taste is very west coast IPA. Love the bitterness . The brown sugar malt note is still there, still very slight.
Slightly prickly carbonation. It really works for this beer.
Enjoyable and refreshing. Would have liked a little more malt on the balance. Yet thin and prickly totally works for this beer. A warm weather, just got done with the yard work kind of beer. Better then most beers at this price point. Would buy again.

Received from @woemad in a BIF. Canned on 3/2/2020. Poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass. It pours a hazy, golden-honey color with almost a finger of creamy, bright white head and a soapy film of lacing. A rather malty nose with notes of lemon, grapefruit, and pine. The taste opens with a hint of malt sweetness that is quickly overwhelmed by tart, bitter grapefruit rind and lemon peel, along with resinous pine. Only as the glass warms do I notice some tropical fruit, which I would expect from Citra and Mosaic hops. The Amarillo, Azacca, and Centennial hops also provide a biting bitterness. It finishes decidedly bitter. This ale has a lite crisp mouthfeel with pleasing carbonation and the 7.8% ABV gives it good substance. Overall, Starburst is a first-rate, hoppy, West Coast IPA. In an era of fruity haze, I like the crisp bitterness. This IPA is big enough to pair with a burger, cheese steak or barbeque, or for casual drinking. I really enjoyed it.

I heard someone call this a "bright" IPA which I'd never heard before, but it makes sense after you drink it, especially compared to some "heavier" hoppy IPAs. Quite smooth going down for a 7.8 abv. Will continue to be one of my regulars.

Slightly hazy, golden amber with tight head, fair retention. Very definite blast of piney & citrus hop which sets the stage for a very tasty IPA. Smooth, no trace of sharpness or roughness which can come through with some NWIPAs. This is one of Ecliptic's better brews.
