Reviewed from notes. Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into an El Catador Barrel-Aged glass.

A: Mildly hazy light copper with pink highlights. A fairly thin light pink head fades quickly, atop a good amount of visible carbonation.

S: Lactic tart and lemony citric acid. Light cracker malts with moderate husk. I guess maybe a touch of tart berry, but it’s only a touch and may be completely absent...can't ignore the power of suggestion. Not off-putting particularly, but the opposite of inspiring.

T: Lactic tart and bright lemony citric acid. Two-row malts again with a significant grainy character. Near and at the swallow is just a light tart berry flavor – underripe raspberries and blueberries. Lactic tart dryness with a bit of lingering lemon sourness in hang.

M: A light body with plenty of carbonation sensation. Low alcohol presence.

O: A nicely light, fruity, refreshing sour beer, but not much to inspire in the sense of a so-called Florida-weisse. It seems rather like a dumbed-down version of the style to be put into mass distribution. I wouldn’t snub it if I saw this around hanging out on a beach or something. But it likely wouldn’t be my first choice.

Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 9/6/2017. Pours slightly hazy pale golden yellow/light orange color with a 1 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a minimal spotty lace cap that lingers. Minimal spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of sour/tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, orange, citrus zest, pear, green apple, melon, white wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of raspberries, lemon zest, fruity/acidic yeast, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with good strength. Taste of sour/tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, orange, citrus zest, pear, green apple, melon, white wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and light spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of sour/tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, orange, citrus zest, pear, green apple, melon, white wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of raspberries, lemon zest, fruity/acidic yeast, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with a great malt/tartness and tangy fruit balance; with no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Moderate increasing dryness from tartness, tangy fruit, and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and light body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/acidic, and fairly tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 3.5%. Overall this is a delicious fruited Berliner weisse. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of raspberries, lemon zest, fruity/acidic yeast, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the modestly acidic/tangy/drying finish, not overly lactic. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Great balance of jammy raspberries, lemon zest, and Lacto complexity; with a nice pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

12 oz bottle from 4 pack purchased in Jacksonville, FL at Total Wine.

Pours an apple juice color with a thin ring of head.

Aromas of stony mineral, lemon heads, and raspberry lemonade. Slight funk.

Flavor is much the same with hints of lemon, lime, raspberry, and mineral.

Feel is crisp and clean with only slight chalkiness on the finish.

Overall while Berliner isn't generally my style, this one is a decent example. For is price point though, I'd say there's better out there for less money.

The clear amber beer with a light pink tone pours out into a Duvel glass with a 1/2" white head that has a barely noticeable touch of pink in it. The head recedes fairly soon to a small ring around the glass and a partial thin foam cover over the liquid. There are no patches of foam on the sides of the glass. Sipping creates a couple of arched sheets of lacing that soon become patches of foam that slide quickly down the sides of the glass and back to the liquid. By midway through the beer almost all of the foam has disappeared.

The aromas include some light raspberry and a bit of lemon, all with a bit of wheat showing in the background.

The flavors are much as expected from the nose, there's some raspberry and some lemon. In addition there's a noticeable bit of tartness that is quite refreshing but no hops show and only a very light background of sweetness that takes the edge off the tartness and doesn't seem to become unpleasant.

The mouth feel is on the light side of medium bodied with very light, slightly prickly carbonation. The tartness shows in the background but is smoothed out by that light sweetness. The finish begins as the berry and lemon flavors recede to leave the tartness to finish the show. The light sweetness keeps the tartness from becoming unpleasant and they both eventually just slowly fade away in the back of the palate.

Overall a very nice take on a Berliner Weisse that has that nice tartness to help make it refreshing and incorporates the raspberries and lemon into the flavor profile making them seem a part of the beer. Very refreshing and a good choice for a hot day in summer.

Has a red raspberry color to it. Smells and tastes like Lemon zest and raspberry Berliner Weisse. Smooth beer to have. Really enjoyed it.
