A smooth, medium bodied porter with house made pure vanilla extract. Slight sweetness balanced nicely with malt bitterness. Pours a tan head that tastes like vanilla whipped cream!

From 12 oz bottle into pint glass. Thin tan head, slight lacing, cola colored. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, tangy hops. Mouthfeel is heavy and viscous. Flavor is where this one falls short there is something missing in the balance. I don't pick up the vanilla except in the background, dark roasted bready malts are dominate, some chocolate, raisins, dark fruit, herbal hops. Overall: good.

Dark brown color. Almost no head. Vanilla is present, but not overpowering, and not too sweet. Roasted coffee flavor is noticeable too. Appropriately carbonated. Smooth mouthfeel. Lingering milk chocolate note.

Look: It pours brown with a tan head. It has moderate head retention and good clarity.
Smell: It has a moderate coffee aroma with roasted malt and low vanilla in the background.
Taste: It has coffee and roast flavor with a slight burnt element. The vanilla flavor is in support.
Feel: It has a medium body with some creaminess to it. The vanilla is more prominent in the after taste.
Overall, the finish has a bit of a tinge of metallic. The flavors are good with the vanilla coming in late for flavor.

Had this on 2018-09-27 in Columbia, PA from a 22oz bottle
A - Opaque brown with almost no head after the initial, aggressive pour.
S - Graham cracker and vanilla wafers.
T - Medium roasted grain, mint, more vanilla, milk chocolate and maybe a hint of char but this is subsumed into the sweetness of the graham cracker and vanilla.
M - Very high carbonation (too much) and light-medium body. So carbonated it is not pleasant to drink.
O - Can't get behind this one. Too sweet and WAY to carbonated. Hopefully, it was just this particular bottle that was so spritzy.

L: Had this beer on-tap at Double Barley, poured into a pint glass. Had a dark brown / black color and a thick, opaque consistency. there was a thin, tan-colored, somewhat long-lasting head. Not much lacing.
S: A very nice aroma of vanilla, malt, chocolate, and a little molasses.
T: Tasted of a good amount of chocolate, some roasted malt (mostly in the finish), a whole mess of vanilla (quite dominant), and a tinge of molasses. Well, they got the name right for this one. The vanilla definitely has a starring role, but the other ingredients do a good job of supporting it. Sweet and likable.
F: An average amount of carbonation with a super smooth finish. Medium-bodied.
O: You could dismiss this as a one trick pony of a beer, but somehow it works. Drinkable.

Thin vanilla profile, lacking in body and a very sour finish. After revisiting the beer it really is a bad vanilla porter. Wanted to love it but seems like a rushed and immature product. Very disappointed.
