Picked this up at a great beer shop in Darmstadt, Germany, Maruhn Welt der Getränke. Cloudy copper-amber pour with a two finger off-white head with great retention and lacing. Unusual nose with hints of dank hops, sweet caramel malt, candy sugar, and subtle citrus. The taste is unusual as well. Very hard to describe as I've never had an IPA quite like this. Resiny, herbal hop notes, but kind of off-putting. Hints of caramel malt, brown sugar, grapefruit, subtle tangerine, and an odd candy sourness on the finish. The mouthfeel is thick and chewy with medium carbonation and a tangy, bitter finish. Overall, this was a very unusual beer. Nothing like any IPA I've ever had. And although they used Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook hops, they tasted nothing like what I've had before. Needless to say, I won't be revisiting this beer...

Aroma - a little bitterness in nose, some citrus smell, but not a lot. Kinda disappointing.
Taste: (66 IBUs on bottle)
front: very bitter, a little grassy;
mid: citrus, biting bitterness;
back: malty, not too much caramel, just a hint, bitter in back a little, citrus too, but overall not great.

Ok, for Germany, it was good, in fact, for a German company and beer, it wasn't bad. But don't forget, I'd just drunk a La Cumbre and some great IPAs at BrauKunstLive in Munich, so with that still in my mind, it was very middling result. I found it too bitter, not much malt, and basically, an "ABI," or Another Bloody IPA.

Amber color, compact white head.
Smells super citrusy with a splash of grapefruit.
Taste is sweet with a light bitter bite. Orange, grapefruit, and citrus come through with a hit of caramel at the end.
Feels good, not to heavy, but not really watery.
Enjoyable beer.

From a 330ml bottle into a tulip.

A: Pours a hazy copper-amber color with a dense white head which left ok lacing. Good head retention. There is no visible activity.
S: Citrus, pinecone, some grapefruit, and a little resin-y. Pretty standard, given the hops used (chinook, cascade and centennial). Some malty sweetness and very light caramel in the background.
T: Decent malt backbone; pale malts and a little bit of caramel sweetness. Followed by pine and resin hops. The bitterness is where it should be.
M: Pretty smooth and velvety. On the lighter carbonation side for the style, but it does it justice.

O: A pleasant drink and a good attempt at a west coast style IPA.

Has a vibrant, orange-red color, one finger broad head. Smells of sweet orange, grapefruit, hints of lemon and malt. Has a strong malty backbone, its floral notes soon disappear by metallic carbonation ending up with a hoppy, long staying bitterness. Malt stays till the end, is in great balance with the upcoming hops, with orange and honey flavors still coming through.
