Picked this up at a great beer shop in Darmstadt, Germany, Maruhn Welt der Getränke. Hazy yellow-amber pour with a two finger foamy white head with good retention and lacing. Nice citrusy nose up front with a solid sweet malt backbone. Hints of caramel, orange peel, butterscotch, and herbal hops as well. The taste follows suit with lots of caramel and citrus along with tangerines, orange zest, butterscotch, pine, subtle grapefruit, and brown sugar. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly chewy with medium carbonation and great balance. Overall, a solid German IPA from an up and coming brewery.

-pours a hazy golden with a big,frothy,white head.
-great head retension
-medium carbonation visible
-lemons,oranges,tangerines,grapefruit with a slight resiny note
-Follows the nose completely
-due to the lighter malt base the 55 IBUs feel more bitter than expected
-medium carbonation,light-medium body
Another great IPA by Braukunstkeller,maybe a tad too light on the finish

The colour is gold with a tint of orange (10 EBC), the liquid is clear. The beer is bottle conditioned. The two finger head is off-white and airy. It looks a little dirty and it sinks slowly, leaving some lacing on the glass.

The smell is smooth and quite sweet. Notes of mandarines, oranges and lemon peels. It is not very strong...

The taste is sweet with hoppy notes of mandarines, sweet oranges and some grapefruits. Growing clean sweetness. Medium body. The aftertaste brings more of those mandarines and other sweet citric fruits. Passing notes of soap and alcohol. The long finish is clean and bitter-sweet with some grapefruit peels.

The carbonation is smooth with lots of small smooth short-lived bubbles. The liquid is semi-smooth.

The Mandarina Bavaria hops gives an interesting citric flavour that I haven’t tasted in any other beer. Sadly, this is much of a one trick pony. A very sweet pony, too.

Aroma: citrus, mandarin oranges.
Taste: a little better than Laguna.
Front: orange, citrus, not much bitterness (55 IBUs);
mid: rounder, less bitter more orange and citrus, grapefruit;
back: bitterness in back, and not much malt flavors.

It was better than the Laguna IPA, and I really enjoyed the mandarin orange aspect of the flavor, but again, it was for American IPA middling, but for Germany not bad. It's not a beer I want to grab and drink with uninhibited joy, like Pax Bräu's Cissy IPA.

Brewed with a variety of Bavarian hops and a base malts of Pilsner, Caramel, and Smoked malts, this is a unique beer with a interesting taste and style.
Pours a nice golden hazy color with about a fingers worth of off white fluffy head. Dissipates and leaves a nice lace. You get a strong aroma of citrus nice flowery hopy smell. First taste, the citrus is apparent. It is actually pretty sweet, and this seems to be a common thing for some German IPA's (Crew Republic Drunkin Sailor comes to mind). It is very full in feel. This is a contrast to the Amarsi, which is rather bitter (in a good way). This boots an IBU rating of 55, but it is honestly covered by the sweetness. It has a bitter back bite to it. Overall, not bad, not bad at all. It is a different style of IPA and it is something new and fresh in the German beer industry. Not the best of the IPA's I have had but it is good non the less.

Cloudy orange pour with a small white.
Mandarina hops bring nice sweet orange (a clear pulpy, pithy smell), lemon and tangerine on the nose. There's some grass and cheese also. Seriously, some kind of stinky old cheese, and not just a whiff.
A rich citrusy taste, quite bitter and sour, with just a bit of tangerine sweetness and a bit of caramel. Otherwise lemon juice and grapefruit peel and pulp from the start, leading to an even bigger bitterness when some grassy notes and light pine come into play too. Faint pineapple. Finishes really bitter. There's a nice smokiness in the malts too (that probably explains the "cheese" aroma).
After the long crisp and hoppy bitter finish, there's still a lot of citrus left in the aftertaste, mostly lemon and grapefruit, with a pretty low tangerine sweetness. The smokey note still lingers. Medium body, medium carbonation.
A really weird "stinky" puppy, but i really enjoyed it. Huge "rare" hops, nice rauch twist, a mix of ingredients that fit in a nice way, like blue cheese and blood orange do.
