Draught @ Brewery: This one pours a very dark amber color. There was almost no head on it. Good nose. Malts, a touch of roast, some earthiness. The taste is also good. Caramel malts, slight roastiness, biscuit and earthy flavors. Very well balanced. A good example of an Irish Ale.

Caramel colored with hints of red at the edges, a thick off-white head that recedes slowly. Aroma of biscuity malt, caramel, and cinnamon. Rich flavor that mirrors the nose, great complexity and depth of flavor. Toasted malts, some caramel and toffee, evenly balanced bitterness, very clean and enjoyable. Full and rich mouthfeeel. This is about as good as an Irish red gets, great beer.

Exactly what one can hope for in this style. Nice balance of hops and malt and a great red color. Very drinkable. Irish Reds are not the best style but this is spot on.
