2015 on the bottle. So it’s been aged 5 years. Nice and dark brown nearly black, but with a deep red tinge - quite opaque. No head at all as there seems to be low carbonation. Scent is very boozy on the nose, getting aromas of raisin, date, cherries. The taste is very sweet with those same notes of dark fruit. Bottle says it’s got an American oak finish and I can definitely get an oak flavor. Mouthfeel is slippery and almost like sipping a wine, very very low carbonation. Overall a highly drinkable dark beer, this one is elegant and drives the palate in a refined manner like a classy rolls Royce. Very smooth and luxurious. Quite an experience. My burps even taste good. However this bottle is so large I can’t even finish it. It’s too rich for me. It made me almost wanna puke. Good god what’s happening to my stomach

Feel like this brew is over the top in every way, but not in a negative connotation . Very strong nose, dark fruit, dark sugar and booze, however, nothing but delicious. Share with a fiend and take your time. Perfect beer for a long cold winter’s eve.

Vintage 2015. Medium hard pour. near black with half inch tan head that lasted thirty seconds. Smells of boozy plums, and cherries. Taste is much the same with a touch of molasses. Little carbonation and a syrupy feel gave my belly the woozy, boozy. Shared this with my partner who remarked similarly. I would not be able to drink the whole bottle unless I sipped it all day. Maybe I'll try that. Really good after a light dinner. I might get another in a year.

1 PT 9.4 FL OZ bottle
Served in an oversized wine glass
2013 Vintage

This beer pours very dark brown in color. Some light just gets through along the edges giving deep amber highlights. It is topped with less than an inch of tan head that disappears leaving very little lacing.

The alcohol is still present after three years, but not overwhelming. It smells of fig, dates, raisin, molasses, and brown sugar.

The alcohol is present in the taste as well. It comes across as a little boozy. Once I get past the alcohol flavor I get some of the things that I smelled. I taste dates, fig, molasses, and some spiciness from the yeast.

Medium mouthfeel with low carbonation

It was boozier than I expected with three years on it not that it is a bad thing. I have been craving something a little boozier the last couple of nights. I just with the flavors could have come through the booze more. My favorite thing about this beer is that I bought it in Ohio last January while we still had a 12% cap. I asked the owner about the abv, and he said if they deliver it, he is going to sell it. So I of course could not pass.

I think this gave me a cavity just looking at it the wrong way. Incredibly sweet, this is like a very lightly carbonated sherry, but with yeast and grains rather than grapes. An interesting achievement, but not the best tasting one.

From the growler via Eightball Brewing in a snifter. This boozy beast of a BSDA pours a deep
muddy, muddled, blackish brown color with a nice head of light tan foam that subsides to a
thick ring, thin layer, and nice lacing. Nose of heavy booze, raisins and prunes, subtle leather
and tobacco, and deep brown sugars. Flavors follow the nose with big warming booze awash in
deep dark brown sugars, dark cherry and raisin notes with prune wine warmth. Nice mouth feel,
incredibly warming and substantial---numbing in fact---coating, slick, medium light carbonation,
and a sweet aftertaste. Overall excellence! Worth the price of the growler---40 dollars---and a
welcome memory of a Belgian done the right way although a touch on the extreme side, like
an American would do minus the super extreme hops. Fantastic!

Cheers---A votre santé

Black and dark with good carbonation. Smells of rich prune juice. The taste starts rich and syrupy with red raspberry and strawberry notes. Finishes syrupy again but with a fiery hot spiciness from the big huge booziness.

Poof! And the tan froth atop this dark brown brew magically disappears.

Aroma with raisin, fresh-baked bread, caramel, faint cinnamon and spent grain.

13% ABV and commesurately hot across the tongue, but there's plenty of sweet chocolate, raisin, burnt sugar, black grape/juice and a slight bitterness in the finish to even it out quickly.

Medium and maybe even a little thin toward the end, but fine drinking with no major hiccups...until later maybe.
